Both players do whats needed and expected of Striker .Score goals . They can also bring others into play and create chances for others What seperates them is one is young the other at the end of their career and One is robust and physical the other is more experianced and has a better touch . Overall there is not much between them . We are lucky to have both Ps this could all change if Morelos comes back and is even more effective playing in the new system found while he has been suspended .

In January we were on their coat tails Shoe horning Davis and Defoe into the side while they were not upto speed took the wind out our sails .these 2 have now settled and for another season they are 2 of the 4 needed .Add that we have also found a more effective role for Arfield. While we may sell Morelos in the summer for me we are one player away from getting the better of them .Somebody on the right of midfield at a good level would do wonders for this side .

If he pulls Defoe to the side and explains .Morelos is worth millions .we can sell him for millions .So Morelos starts against hibs but your starting against the taigs . then there is no harm done .we would never be party to such a convo though. Im sure Gerrard is wise enough on how players would react to being dropped as he is not long off the tools himself

Defoe has been very good indeed in the last few games and being honest we haven't missed Morelos . Defoe doesnt deserve to lose his place but it would also be good to see how Morelos plays having Arfield as support .I know he hasnt been at his best playing 2 up top but Arfield is slightly deeper and wider covering more area than Lafferty did . At the very least we have a player thats a more than adequate replacement for Morelos should he leave in the summer
