  1. Firstly I don't think any of our current squad are worth a great deal but I don't think that it's solely down to playing European football and winning leagues that determine a players worth. If that was the case how come Dundee Utd have taken in 4/5 million in transfer fees in the past few seasons Robertson,Russell,Cifti and if you want to go back a bit Goodwillie. It's about spotting talent,Robertson being a prime example and selling that talent on to whoever is willing to pay the most. That has been the case for long enough.Talent is what will determine a players value.
  2. I don't think you pay 1.8 million for them to learn anything. They should be straight into the team which he wasn't and he should be straight into scoring goals which may or may not come but so far he is not clinical enough.Just look at that cunt at the scum, has he had to learn to adapt?.Chances have to be put away and not only has Waghorn missed those chances but Miller and Garner as well. Our front three ( Garner,Miller,Waghorn ) are not clinical enough, how many times have we heard MW say that we are not clinical enough. As far as one or two stepping up perhaps but the same number have went back the way Wallace and Mckay straight away have been pish, hence we have had no consistent threat down the left all season. As far as Miller being our best player all season well that's your opinion and again I cant agree. If you think that a striker who has scored 3 goals in over 700 minutes of play in the league is our best player it says it all for the team.
  3. My point is that why fix something that isn't broken. You have a striker who is scoring goals through the middle why put him out wide to accommodate who.Garner and Miller have both been as guilty of missing chances as Waghorn,Again I go back to Sundays game for that,Both missed good chances and have done all season hence where we are in the league. As far as Kenny Miller not looking out of place on either wing well I will respect your opinion on that but cant agree.Strikers are strikers and wingers are wingers.Miller, Garner and Waghorn are all there to score goals and it is there in black and white that ALL are not scoring enough not just Waghorn.
  4. While I agree with most of your post especially how the scum manage to over inflate transfer fees another point about strikers is confidence. Here's a guy who has had his problems with injury works his way back scores 3 goals in match playing through the middle, regardless of who the opposition was and then finds himself pushed wide in next game. Why oh why.No wonder the guys head goes down.
  5. The league cup teams are his level are they. Remind me how many Miller scored against these teams before MW arrived. Perhaps that's the reason Miller has 3 so far this season in the league.Perhaps last seasons opposition was his level as well. Spare us the crap about leaving everything out on the pitch and cares, a guy who played for the scum cares about Rangers aye right. He is working his ticket into coaching and plenty can see it,apart from MW and DW. As the guys sitting round about me say busy doing nothing. He is there to score goals like Waghorn, like Garner and hes not doing it just the same as Waghorn and Garner or was it Waghorn who missed two good chances on Sunday or was it Miller and Garner.
  6. He's been poor compared to last season but to say he's not been trying. If he's not been trying after scoring 7 in the league cup and is only 2 behind Miller and Garner in the league doesn't say much for them now does it.
  7. Dear me last season when we suffered our first defeat of the season some were on here moaning before the team were even off the pitch. Suppose that's the BD for you.
  8. Out of curiosity who do you think has " made the step up" as you put it.
  9. What did Miller do more than Waghorn last season. We are not dealing in the past we are dealing with the here and now and none of them are doing it including Miller.
  10. I agree with most of what you say he is out of form and looks disinterested. The only thing I would like to add in the " he only did it against wee teams " and the names you raised,is that you seem to have missed out Miller who is not exactly banging in a barrel load of goals or perhaps " he only did it against the wee teams as well" theres plenty more who only did it against the wee teams and you can throw Wallace and Mckays names in there to.
  11. Whether I've played football or not is nothing to do with anything.I and plenty more have seen to many chances missed by all especially our forward line just like Sunday, Miller and Garner. The table does not lie.Outwith the scum game and the 2 we lost to Aberdeen the last one of those 2 debateable we are losing a goal a game or less. Our trouble is we are not scoring to finish these teams off.If you think signing more midfielders is the answer by all means that is your opinion.I on the other hand believe that no matter who plays in the middle our front line are not finishing whatever chances are created. In answer to your question about how much a clinical striker would cost we only have to look at the scum and Dembele and that will give you an idea of what can be done in this pishy league. How much do you think you will pay for your CM and creative midfielder? We need goals plain and simple. The chances which have been created have not been put away and that is the difference between winners and losers.
  12. Aye that's right. If a chance is made after 4 passes or 24 makes no difference if the man finishing it misses. No point in having midfielders creating chances for forwards to miss them. Our problem isn't losing goals it's not scoring enough and the table shows us all that.Chances have been made in every game we have played,Sunday being a prime example yet one goal scored.Good chances have been created and squandered all season to quote MW who repeats it often enough " we are not clinical enough "
  13. As I say its all about opinions and mines is that we are not getting demolished ( apart from the scum game ) in which Barton and Kranjcar both played as we all know but as Neil McCaan pointed out that we are dominating games but not finishing them off and that is down to our front men not taking those chances plain and simple.
  14. All about opinions but im sticking with mine and that we need goals and that means an out and out goal scorer. To many games and to many chances squandered by all the front line,Miller,Garner,Waghorn,Mckay etc. As I say games are won by outscoring the opposition and we are obviously not.The goals for which our front line have contributed this season is pish. You can look at the midfield and perhaps lay some of the blame but the facts are there in black and white we are not scoring enough goals, they are all missing those few chances that come along.Thats the difference between an average striker and a good striker, taking those few chances that come along.
  15. An out and out goal scorer should be our top priority. Our whole front line is poor to say the least.Games are won by outscoring the opposition something that is not happening as the stats clearly show. When you only get one or two chances in a game those chances have to be taken and clearly as Sunday showed our current front line are not taking those few chances.
  16. Funny how you once again single out Halliday who Iam sure only played in three full games with Barton in the league and even Holt who I don't think even had a game with Barton in the league but fail to mention the pish poor performances from Wallace,Mckay and Miller who all played in every game with Barton.
  17. Just out of curiosity who would you say was to blame for the goal if you think anyone is to blame.
  18. Said before MW isn't the first and wont be the last manager to get things wrong in bringing players to the club.If all true that Barton is moving on it is hopefully and should be a lesson learned by all involved.
  19. He's pish plain and simple.Oh yes he runs about but offers absolutely no threat to any defence. The stats don't lie but some think he's great. He's not alone in the front line but gets nowhere near the stick others get. To many chances missed and all this pointing and coaching on the park is only kidding MW and DW he's not kidding the majority in the stands.Ffs Halliday gets it tight every game sometimes rightly sometimes unfairly but he's still managed as many if not more goals than Miller.
  20. It's pish just look at the stats for our whole forward line not good enough but plenty want to have a go at defence or midfield.
  21. Very worrying. At any level a forward has to take the few chances he may get and far to often this is not the case.
  22. More worried about our lack of goal scoring up front tbh.
  23. And this kind of shit form of football " entertainment " is of no interest to people who may well wish to invest in any form and end up taking their investment elsewhere wherever that may be but it's certainly not in Scotland.
  24. Good points but we can't just blame Sky or any one entity. The whole mind set in Scottish football is outdated and non entertaining. When commentators talk about an ex Scotland captain and current captain of the team leading the SPL as a battler, fighter, scrapper that about sums up why no one is interested in the back water of European football.
