  1. I doubt their official line would be that it was aimed at 12-16 year old boys but it was definately a case of style over substance, and a lot of the appeal would be to the younger gamers who could enjoy the immature stuff like being able to buy drugs in the shop and the quotes below describe other gimmicks aimed at the kids.
  2. I followed Blackburn for some unknown reason when they got into the Premiership and also have a soft spot for Bolton as I have family down there. Dont really have a proper English team though as I dont really care that much now if either gets beat. Do have an irrational hatred of Arsenal though so tend to support whoever plays them.
  3. Fair play to him, not annoyed in the slightest by his comments, we've always known our league lets us down as a club.
  4. GTA4 was alright and remember Saints Row was probably the worst game ever released for the xbox. Only had it for a couple of days before I traded it in. I wouldn't say that Saints Row was rubbish. Theres no doubting that they basically ripped off GTA, but they improved so many areas of GTA that were utter garbage (mainly everthing to do with cars, getting in/out, driving etc) IMO its only let down was that it was quite a short game. GTA4 was as many people have said was a major let down, I don't get much of a chance to play on the PS3 due to work and the like, I managed to get to around 25% complete of GTA4 and got completely bored of how repetitive the missions were. I have high hopes for Saints Row 2, from what I have seen, they have further improved on what they started in the 1st one. I've got to admit I didn't give Saints Row much of a chance, got it with the xbox, but it wasn't so much that they just ripped off GTA that got to me it was that they made it worse in my opinion. Think my problem is that I'm in my 20's and got the feeling Saints Row would appeal to a younger crowd, probably aimed at the 12-16 year old market.

    PES or Fifa

My main gripe about FIFA from the demo was that all the players felt exactly the same, you didn't really notice any difference playing as Toronto or REAL Madrid! Has this been sorted out for the full version? I have stated before on here that the PES demo felt better, however it doesn't feel much different from PES 6(last footie game I bought) and it could be due to me not being used to FIFA. I am tempted to gamble on getting FIFA but have done that years ago and was biggest mistake I ever made in terms of game choice.

    PES 2009

I'd recommend trying the demo first tbh. From the two demos PES feels better
  7. McGreggor should play, but he shouldn't have been brought back so soon when Alexander came in and did a good job, but as others have said you cant chop and change your keeper on a whim. Why Mcgreggor should start.
  8. He is oviously a 'dud' then. I appreciate that but when players like Gattuso and Arteta have come into the club as young lads and contributed to the team immediately then questions should be asked. If he is so good, football does the talking!!! From memory Gattuso wasn't that settled when he first arrived, he did make a few 1st team starts but looking at him in his early days as a Rangers player you'd find it hard to beleive what he went on to acheive. As the others are saying give the boy time to adapt.
  9. Anyone played a demo/heard any reviews about 'dead space' yet? Seen an advert for it on tv looked pretty good, may consider it.

    PES 2009

Nah hopefully with the real football game coming out we'll stop hearing so much about FIFA on here
  11. Have only played the Demos and PES plays better in my opinion. However FIFA for a long time was an unbeleivabley shocking game, they seem to have improved it drastically so it should win more fans. I remember when PES 2 was out I had mates that picked FIFA first simply because you had all the official teams, player, sponsors, stadium, etc. despite the fact the gameplay on that version was diabolical. Now they've got half decent gameplay I'm even tempted to convert.
  12. Exactly Souness bought his way to sucess at Ibrox, it also helped that English clubs were banned from European competition at the time so playing for Rangers was a VERY attractive option for all players down south as we were guarenteed european football every year. Basicaly we could pick and choose from all the English talent, was there not a time around the late eighties early ninteys where about half the starting 11 for the English national team played for us? When he went elsewhere and didn't have those advantages he didn't impress. Still he would have been better than Burley!
  13. Is Wes Brown not now been demoted to 3rd choice right back at Man Utd now that Nevilles fit and they have that new Brazillian kid(cant think of his name)? Mind you 3rd choice RB at Man Utd is no real shame, he could walk straight into a number of top european clubs starting 11's 8 starts for Man U this season. Still think he'd be better in footballing terms moving on, Garry Neville(one of the most underrated players in english football history in my opinion) will always be ahead of Brown if he's fully fit and Rafael is a hot new prospect who will get increasingly more 1st team starts as he matures and devlopes as a footballer. Still agree with your assesment though that Wes Brown is a quality right back. haha dont make me laugh, the two are majorly overrated When Man Utd were dominating everything in the 90's you never heard anyone praise Neville,if anything they slagged him off. Wasn't till he was injured that you realised what a difference he made. And as for Brown, would you complain if he came to Ibrox?

    Classic Online Games

Not had a chance to play R6 vegas 2 yet online, my mate borrowed it a week after I got it and still hasn't returned it :willy: Loved the feel of the first one, the graphics were poor for a next gen console, there were loads of glitches but gameplay was unriveled!

    Best GTA game

The original one for the PS2, certainly not the best in terms of missions storyline gameplay etc but it was groundbreaking at the time of release, there simply wasn't anything even remotely like it on the market and thats why I'd say it was the best.
  16. What were the first games that got you hooked on online gaming? For me it was Star Wars Battlefront on the PS2 then Rainbow six vegas for the xbox

  20. CB: PaulRFC or AndyBoy RB: Mister C or Kingbarry The best CB's and RB's in the world(...that play for RMFC)!
  21. What?! Ramos is Madrid's best defender. He has (or had) an insane amount of pressure on his shoulders because of how narrow Schuster deploys the midfield. Ramos basically has to take care of the right hand side of the pitch on his own, in an attacking sense as well as defensive. CB(s): Nemanja Vidic, Pepe, Diego Godin, Christian Chivu, Ricardho Carvalho, Philippe Mexes, Giorgio Chiellini. RB(S): Dani Alves, Sergio Ramos, Maicon, Alexander Anyukov, Philipp Lahm. Misread this at first and thought you were touting Graeme Alexander as one of the worlds best right backs, was all set to call the men in white coats then realised my error!
  22. Reckon he's a good player but he doesn't strike me as having the leadership quallity you'd expect from a captain. Though in saying that I dont know who else I'd give the role to, possibly Gordon???

    PES Demo

Played both demos and although I'd hoped to switch to FIFA this year PES still wins the gameplay battle in the demo stage. Will wait till I've had a go of both of the final versions though before comitting to buying my own but based purely on the demos, I reckon I'll go with PES

    PS3 V XBOX 360

To be honest I reckon the best way to choose is find out what his mates own or are getting for xmas and go with that. I own an xbox but will admit the PS3 is technically better, however the margins of difference are too small to make me want to change console. Most games on the market are available for both formats and most people would be hard pressed to find a difference playing the same game on the two consoles(well only if you had 5 dyson hoover's running in the room while playing the PS3 for that authentic 360 noise!). Main reason I am loyal to 360 is thats what most of my mates own so makes the online gaming more fun.
  25. I'll probably wait till both are out and try them both before getting it, remember a few years ago I was stung when the early reviews of FIFA were great so I bought the game over PES and it was awful!
