  1. None of the names linked (bar de Boer, which was never going to happen) would show we mean business. The board are maybe trying to think outside the box here. They are gambling, massively, that this guy has talent but not yet known within Europe yet. I for one will be giving the guy my full backing for the rest of this season and next. He MUST be given a chance
  2. So did you want Kiernan to join in and challenge Hill and Bingham aswell?
  3. He really was getting unfair criticism, and getting compared to McDowall was harsh. He was thrown into the role, he had no choice, but has taken it head on and handled the flak that has come his way far better than Warburton handled it and since the Dundee game he has improved as well as the teams performance.
  4. See in fairness to him, he played well at Inverness up until their winning goal when he wasn't physical enough. I only seen first half against St Johnstone and he seemed to play well but I didn't see 2nd half and obvious the sending off. And today he strolled it
  5. Because I fell Holt and Hyndman could be more box to box and cover both areas whilst leaving Toral to support the striker. I see your point with Hyndman though as he seems to be the only midfielder in recent times who could make the run beyond the striker. In saying that, you would then need to put Hyndman where I've put Toral and then that means putting Halliday in, which gives me the boak
  6. Reckon it'll be a similar if not same team, however would like to see Foderingham Tavernier Kiernan Hill Wallace Holt Hyndman Forrester Toral McKay Miller Toral doesn't look like he can handle centre of midfield, but as a no10 I'd like to see him behind and supporting striker
  7. Hughton is a great shout, consistently has his sides doing well, especially in the championship and unfairly dismissed by Newcastle. However doubt he'd leave Brighton with them close to the Premiership and doubt Brighton themselves would entertain us talking to him, so yet another above average manager out of our budget sadly
  8. Have I missed something, Is this guy the clear frontrunner with the way everyone is going on?
  9. Did McKay not counter brilliantly to play in Halliday who then set up Miller for his near miss??
  10. Remember Amoruso's first season?? I'm glad we didn't terminate his contract..
  11. The one I'd heard that King wanted last time around before the board convinced him of Warburton was Bob Bradley
  12. My first knee jerk reaction when Warburton news broke was get McLeish until end of season. I wasn't too happy with the likes of Mcinnes/Wright/Davies name being banded about. The longer it has went on the less I want McLeish and the more I want McInnes. Apart from last night Aberdeen had won 10/11 games. Taking them from botton half under Craig Brown to consistent 2nd place under a smaller budget than us. He's also part of 9iar, playing under Smith and Advocaat (two great managers to learn from),has a wealth of experience in Europe and winning leagues with us
  13. Thus the predicament we are in. A manager who has taken a League 2 side and built them to progress to Championship level in England is appealing to our board as someone who could maybe progress our team to fight for the League and get to latter stages in Europe
  14. Well what manager in the list of names currently being linked suggest to you of League winning and European progression in their makeup, apart from McLeish
  15. Did he not take Burton from league 2 into the Championship, albeit he got the Birmingham manager job halfway through League 1 promotion season?
  16. I must admit stuff like "McCoist's team was the worst in our history" really gets on my wick. Of course they fucking were, we were in the lower divisions, no matter who was in charge or who McCoist brought in it was always going to be the worst in our history. You cannot compare them to any other team in our history as to where we were. For a shite team to be worst in history we still managed League 1 unbeaten.
  17. This was obvious from the Hibs match after the semi final. Stubbs had changed to 3 at the back against us. It left the midfield flooded and left 2 up top v our essentially 2 centre halves as Stubbs knew we would leave them exposed. This was him preparing for the cup final. Did Warburton take note? Did he fuck. Then in the final he makes a sub at his usual timing, takes Zelalem off who, was actually our best player that day. Sometimes in games you just have to leave things the way they are and don't upset the rythymn. Then as we know the last 10 minutes was criminal to not shut up shop and keep it tight and see the game through. That's where the warning signs were there for all to see. Then for me, when I was done with Warburton was the 5-1 defeat. You have to react to games. 2-1 down and 10 men, Smith (for example) would have kept it compact and looked to score an equaliser on the break, if we lost it would have been 2-1, 3-1. He would never have let it get to 5. What was Warburtons reaction after the game, was it not something like "it isn't the end of the world" Therein sat a man who wasn't fit to manage us and didn't know what it takes to manage us.
  18. Discussing signings he made is irrelevant if he is to be interim manager until end of season. He won't be making any. He will come in to motivate and get a winning mentality into the players already there, which he has done with great success in the past. Then we finish 2nd and thank him very much for his help but we move on to a permanent manager in the summer
  19. I remember reading that Rio Ferdinand rated Hoddle as one of the best managers he worked with, rated him as highly as Sir Alex. He would play good football and 'm sure would instill a winning mentality. But how much would he cost and would he come?
  20. The intensity dropped no end. The problem was this was never "recognised" nor "learned from"
  21. I think Alnwick will start as it is cup game and Murty will carry the philosophy on Alnwick Hodson Senderos Hill Wallace O'Halloran Hyndman Windass Toral McKay Miller That's what I'd like to see
