  1. It's not a Liverpool thread, it's comparing their style to the way we should play
  2. I started a thread about Liverpools style, alluding to something similar. Yes teams stifled us and got physical. But from the start of last season to the start of this season we became slow, turgid, devoid of ideas. We need someone to come in to bring the hunger back to the players to play at a higher tempo. Maybe last season it worked because our players were fitter than other teams, then maybe took our eye off the ball fitness wise and that's why it's not been the same style
  3. Yeah I know that he was a massive loss for them when he was away. But it wasn't a one off performance last night for Liverpool they have destroyed teams at times this season and also had bad games like Wolves/Swansea. But do you not think the way that Liverpool play was the way that we were going to go under Warburton? I genuinely did, I thought our style of play would match it with high intensity pressing and fast tempo
  4. I'm not saying watch them once and then all of a sudden we get it right. Warburton obviously thought there was nothing wrong with the way things were going eg style of play, but we could all see it was horrible to watch. I was merely stating this is the way I thought we would set up.
  5. If you seen the Liverpool v Spurs game last night and, when going well, the way Klopp has his Liverpool players on the front foot, high energy pressing and interchanging front 4 causing one of the best defences in the Premiership all sorts of trouble, then that's the way I expected us to be under Warburton.Granted the quality in the players is huge from our front players to theirs. If we had that same level of intensity with and without the ball then Warburtons ethos would be very successful, however due to the lack of urgency and tempo it just hinders us playing this way. After the semi final (which we did have a high level of intensity and tempo) we really should have kicked on. if we want to continue to play in that way, which depends on the new Manager/Interim style, we have to get the players to look at Liverpool and see what is expected when playing.
  6. I see Bob Bradley isn't on the price list for Sky Bet. I heard that King favoured him before the board convinced him Warburton was the man last summer
  7. Do people expect the transfer fees of players to total 18M for that to be considered the £18m investment?? That never will be the case. You have to factor transfer fees, agents fees, signing on fees, wages (inc bonuses). Then you have running costs which the board have reduced. Then there's investment to the infastructure. I am going against the grain by the look of it by supporting King
  8. The format during the ACTUAL Championships to progress into last 16 not the qualifying
  9. Yes. I've said before his warcry was to 'send the fans home happy'. That hasn't happened since the semi final. Also this insistence that we play possession football hasn't led to us being enjoyable to watch, far from it. We are slow, turgid and predictable. It's been a challenge watching us this season and last half of last season (bar semi final)
  10. They topped their qualification group yes! As I said it was an easier group than they have probably ever had. The format of the actual Championships help them qualify. As for him being catholic, I couldn't give a fuck what religion or where they are from as long as they got us back to the top. I personally didn't think they were brilliant for the whole Euro's. They had one great performance, one performance where McGovern kept them from getting a tanking and the first game was underwhelming and disappointing. As for the Wales game they were hanging on. He would hardly inspire me. It's all opinions.
  11. Not for me. He's been made to look better by the format of the Euro's in the summer. He done well to qualify, however NI had an easier qualification group than they have probably ever had.
  12. Another ridiculous suggestion. Souness hasn't been involved in football for a number of years now and that is mainly due to his health.
  13. We've done the whole promising Championship manager angle. It's time for a proven winner
  14. Deary me. Some people are so fucking deluded. Sean Dyche?? We have no money to pay compensation for folk in jobs!!! He would be at least 3M in compensation plus wages
  15. Pardew would be a decent shout but I doub we could afford him or whether he would come to Scotland. de Boer will never happen in a million years. People who also think Gio is a realistic target are mental. McInnes might even be out of our reach compensation wise. Billy Davies can fuck right off Alex McLeish until end of season for me. He has a great track record of coming into struggling teams and motivating, his problem is when he has the chance to build his own team he fails. SO Eck until summer then have time to recruit a good manager in the summer
  16. Possibly, it's hard to judge him apart from Swansea, where he got about 2 months, I haven't seen any of his teams. Apparently King wanted him before Warburton last summer, so if he's now available then they might go for him
  17. I'll go for my lifetime as I always do in best eleven selections Klos Hutton Weir Gough Numan Laudrup Ferguson van Bronckhorst Albertz McCoist de Boer Subs Charbonnier Bougherra Reyna Johansson Prso
  18. It's not just this season, bar the start of Warburton's reign and the semi final aside we haven't hit the heights. His warcry when he first came in is "we must send the fans home happy". When is the last time this happened?
  19. No money to spend?? £1.8M on Garner, £500K on O'Halloran, £250K on a back up Keeper who's not gonna see the 1st team? Have Hearts or Aberdeen spent £2.5M+?? That's not even considering the development fees for Rossiter/Dodoo
  20. Personally McCall came in to a deflated team and rejuvenated. Unfortunately he just couldn't get there with a team that wasn't his. McCalls credentials were ideal for the next season however. Every season at Motherwell he would lose players and rebuild and mostly have a successful season with them
  21. There only was McCoist as manager, McCall was interim. So wouldn't be hard for Warburton to be better than McCoist
  22. My point here, is I highly doubt he would have got this far, so I believe the time is now up for Warburton. There's no coming back, he has to go
  23. As per title, and things had gone the same way as they are going. Promotion Scottish Cup Final place, with a win against them Petrofac win Then the circumstances this season, 5-1 and 4-1 defeats. Would he still be in charge??
