  1. Christ on a bike. It's like the only ideas they can come up with are totally convoluted. And just what Scottish football needs, too - a league that leads to even more stagnation or clubs going bust chasing promotion.
  2. I can't even remember what that was. There have been far too many stupid ideas floated about for league restructuring.
  3. Even more so when you consider the objective is to get into a twelve team league that splits info two groups of six after thirty three games. Trying to explain that to folk who aren't familiar with Scottish football must be a tad embarrassing.
  4. Checked the Sky planner and it's on PBS America on Sky on Friday night.
  5. Hope neither of them get promoted. The Thompson family and Douglas Rae can get tae fuck.
  6. He's always been known to have 'his' players, and if you weren't part of that group you didn't get the same treatment. Guys like Amo, Albertz and Tugay have attested to it. On the flip side, he inherited guys like Negri and Rozental that, for different reasons, either didn't play or barely played, and they've spoken about him making them feel included. From the outside looking in, it always seemed like the guys that fell out of favour with him were strong personalities who weren't afraid to stand up to him about certain things.
  7. I used to raid Southampton every time they had a half decent youngster break through into the first team in that game. They were skint, so I'd usually get future stars for next to nothing. Nathan Dyer was one; got him for a few hundred grand, had him for four years and then he went to Liverpool for £8 million; got him back a year later for half of that when he was transfer listed by request, then a year down the line Manchester City paid me £7 million for him.
  8. I started a new save last night as Brondby, as I fancied managing in a league outwith the UK. Trying to make sure the spine of the team is Scandinavian or Nordic. Already told the sheep to fuck off when they asked to loan one of my players.
  9. I think he's ripping the cunt out of Mrs. Advocaat with the "honest, love, this is the last job, I swear..." I was quite critical of him years ago, but ultimately it was Murray & his board that spent the money. My only real criticism of Advocaat was that he allowed cliques to form in the squad, and ended up punting players that we could still have done with as a result. We did come agonisingly close to progressing in the Champions League under him, won a treble and a double, and he's always spoken highly of the club and fans. I even forgive him for Manchester.
  10. Roma have won three league titles in their history, and nine Coppa Italia. Totti was a key player in the Serie A victory of 2000-01, and won two of those nine Coppa Italia. It's obvious why he's a legend at Roma, and in no way was he a flop for them. Opinions should still have some context, and if you're going to dismiss that league title and its importance to Roma and their fans then you aren't looking at it in context. As for spitting? Plenty of Rangers fans like El Hadji Diouf - partly because of the spitting - so it's not quite true that nobody in football likes players who spit at opponents or fans...
  11. Pretty sure Roma fans disagree with that sentiment, given that he was integral to their period of success from the late 90s to mid 00s.
  12. There's a file on the steam workshop; subscribe to it and it adds the editor file with him to your game.
  13. It's the club that are retiring him - Totti himself was undecided about whether to play on next year.
  14. I loved the bungs and bribery aspect, especially as it was random whether it'd ever come back to bite you. I think there should be a similar option for Football Manager, even if it's something you can turn off in the pre-game settings.
  15. https://gamerant.com/friday-the-13th-game-flaming-jason-skin/ Well, that should make a change from Football Manager...
  16. That's part of the thinking behind counselling; your counsellor has no other personal relationship with you and, in theory, you should feel less likely to be judged by them and thus find it easier to open up. (Most counsellors recommend confiding in close friends you can trust as well, particularly about mental health issues.) Hope he overcomes whatever his issues are. Shame that it's made the news too, as I doubt that makes it easier to deal with. Hopefully the tabloid hacks give him some space, and the messages of support at least provide some small comfort.
  17. It's as if the Italian football authorities forget that these games are recorded/broadcast, and viewers across the world can hear this; they're stuck in a past decade with these denials.
  18. Muntari has been given a one game ban over this.
  19. In general I agree that it's ridiculous what some players get away with. Roy Keane openly admitted to trying to intentionally seriously injure opponents - he should have prosecuted upon being daft enough to admit that. But with Brown? It's who he plays for that saves him. If Miller had been the one elbowing Celtic players in two Old Firm games, they'd have charged him. Duncan Ferguson was right about the double standard.
  20. Exactly. His booking was because, upon protesting to the referee, he was told that the ref hadn't heard anything and would consult his assistants. Muntari didn't accept that, and I don't blame him - it was blatant, and there's no way that the ref didn't hear the abuse and couldn't have called for an announcement to be made over the tannoy.
  21. He was charged by the FA over separately placed bets, over a number of years, that preceded his signing for us. If he was still with us he'd still be facing this ban, as it's rare for FAs to refuse to enforce suspensions placed by another.
  22. Rangers fans singing songs is apparently "Scotland's shame" - fuck knows what they'd do if one of us stabbed one of that lot.
  23. I gave up Fight Pass years ago as my interest in MMA has waned with each passing year since PRIDE ceased. I dunno why, buy TUF: Redemption sounded interesting to me, so I'm recording the first two episodes over the weekend to give it a go.
  24. I do think sending Vidal off and the questionable offside decisions were the deciding factors the other night, though in real time I don't think many would have gotten both the offside calls right. (Unless FAs start recruiting athletics stars as officials, it's got to be expected that they won't be able to keep up with play at those moments.) I fancy Atletico because it's over two legs, and over the years various Real managers have found it hard to break down Simeone's teams. Zizou has had some success there, but I think the aggregate scoreline against Bayern flattered them and they'll find it tough against Atletico. My money is on Atletico vs. Monaco in the final. Anything but Real and Man United winning the respective tournaments would be fine by me though...
