  1. Growing with confidence in every game, very promising.
  2. Not true, I got the sense that, like Murty, he was a likeable guy and most fans really wanted him to succeed.
  3. Murty will be seen as a good manager after we get rid of him, just like MW was good just after Pedro got dicked by the minnows from Luxembourg. Even Walter’s appreciation grew after he left. The moral of the story is....
  4. I think there are other periods in our history you’d rather forget a tad more, no? Listen, it’s not perfect, far from it, but we are living our best days for 6 years mate. Nobody said it would be smooth sailing and at least we have expectation, that in itself is good.
  5. Aparently, sources close to Walter have suggested he would consider it. Euro2020 is by far our best chance of qualifying for a major final for 22 years and Walter will know that. What an opportunity for him. He is enjoying retirement, but this job doesn’t come with the demands of club football. It’s only for a coupe of years, he won’t stay on after that. I’ll be delighted if they offer it to him and he takes it.
  6. Are you being serious? The first part about being not good enough, he admitted as much without the cursing. He didn’t offer a personal apology but he did say that players held their hands up for the “10 secs of madness and 3 or 4 bad decisions” amounting to an apology from the players. He’s not going to say Josh isn’t starting on Tuesday - that would be a huge mistake obviously and I don’t honestly believe you think he should have said that, or offer his resignation. I hear anger and frustration, quite rightly, but you can’t really answer the question....what was he supposed to say? He has a job to do with managing players attitude and motivation whilst trying to get them to perform at their best. Therefore, I don’t see what else he could have said.
  7. I have similar minded Arsenal fan friends. They haven’t won the title and are frustrated beyond belief, I get it. But Wenger has kept Arsenal - almost exclusively amongst the CL places without blowing anywhere near the budgets that the other Top3 have. That’s why he’s still there. If he was a possibility, I would be surprised if any true Rangers fan would turn their nose up at the opportunity to get him in.
  8. I’d be up for that. Let’s hope money is not a motivation for him at this stage in his career and that he’d be keen to come here for Trophies, European football and 50,000 adoring fans every other week. Long shot, if ever there was one, but not impossible....
  9. I don’t think that Clarke would have been a credible option at the time. He’s done fantastically well at Kilmarnock but it’s only been 3 months. Consider his second season at WBA didn’t live up to the early promise and his short time at Reading was seen as a failure. Let’s see if he can sustain the form that Killie are on through the end of the season. I’m open minded, but if Murty fails to achieve what we deem is acceptable from now til May, then we need a major upgrade and I’m not convinced, yet, that Clarke is it.
  10. Yep, he’s one of those cowardly expats who doesn’t admit to being a Rangers or celtic fan once out of Scotland.
  11. We would have won 2-1 today if those ridiculous decisions hadn’t gone against us. I think we need to calm down a bit and see where we are at the end of the season. Pointless judging the totality of things on a game by game basis. It’s not going to be a smooth sail whoever’s in charge. We pick ourselves back up and go again.
  12. He believes it though. Remember he sees those players everyday - we may see them for the last 10 minutes of a game if we’re lucky (or unlucky), so we may think MOH, Halliday, Dodoo, Herrera etc. have no right to be in the squad, but we don’t see them train every day. I have to say, something that sets Murty apart from any of our previous managers of late, is that he has a canny ability to get the best from the players and perhaps that stems from being a development team coach as that’s what you are primarily in the job to do vs a Warburton or Pedro who relied on players they knew that would fit a style of play that they thought would be successful. I’ve generalized, but I do believe him and I do think the fringe or out of favor players feel invigorated with Murty at the helm and would rather stay and fight for a place like Rangers than be sold to a backwater club as they know the only way us down. Proof in point is look at Wilson and Holt for starters.
  13. I would probably agree with you if the offer was made at the start of the window and gave us a chance to bring in as good or better quality. But with 24 hours to go before it shut - I’d like to think we did reject a high offer (of course we’ll never know for sure if it was 8m) so not to derail our season with a lot still to play for.
  14. Murty has never confirmed or denied the bid amount, so it’s irrelevant. The point he made was that a bid for Alfredo didn’t meet our valuation of our player.
  15. I haven’t seen enough of Goss yet to convince me, seems to float them in too high but we’ve been really poor at corners for a while so hopefully he’ll prove to be effective. We should mix it up when it comes to free kicks depends where it is and who fancies it. Alves scored a cracker early on in the season so when he’s back (like it or not he will be) he could be given a chance along with Tav, Murphy and Candeias, not sure if Goss has the power. With penalties - don’t fix it if it ain’t broken - so should be Tav for me until he misses a couple then Windass.
  16. Oh Lordy, the honeymoon is over!
  17. Good point about McKay. Don’t think it was coincidence either that the 10m valuation of Morelos was made and I’m glad we picked up on that 2m crap and set the record straight (pun intended).
  18. Agree, and there are still many challenges and opportunities, but they seem to be capable of doing the best for Rangers FC e.g ripping up the Sports Direct contract, bringing in new investment (WIP), a DOF, securing shareholder loans to fund signings without having to off load first etc.
  19. Haha, depends - I’m not always giving popular opinion. It’s quite polarized on here though, we’re all marmite!
  20. They will get there, it’s not an overnight process mate. Just cast your mind back to the rat era - I can’t even bring myself to type their names. Look at us now, we are absolutely on the journey back to where we belong, getting closer all the time.
  21. Every post I’ve seen of yours I’ve agreed with! Like your thinking mate
