I honestly feel like a few years ago pre-admin if an opposing team scored against us or created a chance etc the fans would stick together with the players and lift them to push them on

These days 10 minutes in we play a ball back the way and everyone is going mental. It's fucking ludicrous. We had a bit of play in the 2nd half where we passed it around at the back for about 5 minutes and everyone was moaning and groaning then Tav got played into a bit of space and whipped a ball in and we created a chance.

Some of our fans are just fucking morons who don't watch football IMO

My favourite contradiction from our fans is that during the McCoist era everyone sitting around me was screaming that we were playing “hoof ball” and these days when we recycle the ball to keep possession the same fans wonder why we’re playing “tippy tappy pish” and scream for us to get the ball into the box.

It is actually quite funny I watched it back on Rangers TV and it seemed that Windass played pretty well. He was chasing down everything and should have scored at least two goals. Last night I had totally given up on the guy.

This, I felt from watching at the stadium that we were dreadful and left disappointed but relieved.

watched the game back on BT and thought we did fine for a first competitive game and Windass in particular had a better game than I realised, we could have killed the tie in the first half and they had next to nothing all game.

finishing is usually the last thing to come in pre-season so it’s to be expected. Feel much happier about it today, perhaps I was blinkered by the pre-match expectations which were in hindsight a bit over the top.

How soon will the fixtures be moved? For example I'm assuming all the Saturday games will be moved to sundays? For example the st mirren game on the 11th will be moved to the 12th? How soon will we know the times on the Sundays? Just trying to juggle work shifts at the moment. Cheers for any help

Immediately if we progress through each round, if the game isn’t on tv Sunday is the only option so there won’t be much to change. A 3 o’clock Saturday kick off would simply become a 3 o’clock Sunday kick-off

You're going to have to explain that in English for me

Ok in English you’re supposed to be really happy because your team of Harlem globetrotting superstars who can actually only score from set-pieces are about to win everything.

In Scotland where I’m from, I’m glad I won’t have to hear the most annoying song in the history of the planet sung 10 times a day ?

  5. Happy and relieved they never won it, we’d have heard about it for the next 40 years if we did, reminds me of them with their European Cup pish. Hear about it every 2 seconds and it was 50 fucking years ago.

Also Ian Wright and Mark Lawrenson make me want to be sick when I hear them. They had a piss easy draw and scored 2 goals from open play in the whole tournament but they thought they were Brazil.

    https://news.gov.scot/news/extra-funding-for-catholic-teachers

Specific investment for Catholic Teachers. I'm guessing your friends had to get the Catholic Teaching Certificate? Why should there be any 'pre-requisite' for a job other than a standard teaching qualification and why should it be funded above the standard teacher training budget?

Interesting read cheers ? couldn’t find that.

There have been numerous cases, in the press, where teachers haven't got positions as they weren't 'of the faith' or didn't have a letter from a priest. It may not be all of them but there are too many cases for it to be an unfortunate series of isolated incidents. I'm not aware of the same issues in Catholic schools in England.

There is also the issue of the imposition of religious study based on that faith rather than a broader education. On top of that there is the recent SNP funding specifically targeted at segregated schools.

Do you have a source for the bottom bit? Not doubting you but I’ve had a look and can’t find it anywhere.

I think the difference is the way they are promoted by the SNP up there as the best and more importantly their discriminatory employment practices.

It doesnt cause the division down here. I certainly don't blame parents for choosing the nearest or best school but I do object to the special treatment that a minority seem to get. Its certainly not the childs fault. I wasn't playing it down just stating the reason they chose to send him there.

2 friends of mine were brought up Protestant and recently became primary teachers, they’ve both got jobs in different authorities at catholic schools and there’s been no issues or discrimination whatsoever, there’s been zero issues.

  9. Formations on and off the ball are different, off the ball we were set up in a 4-1-4-1 but on the ball the wide players pushed forward and the 2 higher players in midfield looked to break beyond Morelos with full-backs over-lapping to virtually play a 2-1-4-3 on that ball in an ultra-attacking way, it’s a lot like Liverpool.

Klopp says he always wants 3 players protecting defensively which were the 2 centre half’s, and McCrorie most of the time but there was license for Katic to break forward if a full-back stayed.

He’s also the only player in the squad to piss off at our lowest and become a rat bastard in the process, scumbag shouldn’t be here never mind be captain

Here’s the difference though, McGregor was de-facto captain during admin, he rallied the players , questioned whyte and the administrators and convinced the squad to take a pay cut.

Davis was posted missing and if Naismith or Whittaker ever signed again I’d hand my season ticket back for their disgraceful new club comments.

I don’t blame international players for not wanting to play in the 3rd division and Green would have pissed away any transfer fee we got for him anyway, just being at the club at that point doesn’t make him a rat bastard.

And tbh Wallace stayed and apparently he’s a rat on here anyway so I’m supposed to hate everyone apparently.

Could be a nice little earner for us if we click as a proper team.

    Round 1 we get €215,000

    Round 2: €225,000

    Round 3: €235,000

    Play off: €245,000

    Qualification: €2,920,000

    Win: €570,000

    Draw: €190,000

    Group winner: €1,000,000

    Runner-up: €500,000

    • qualification for the round of 32: €500,000

    • qualification for the round of 16: €1,000,000

    • qualification for the quarter-finals: €1,500,000

    • qualification for the semi-finals: €2,400,000

    • qualification for the final: €4,500,000

    • The UEFA Europa League winners can expect to collect an additional €4,000,000

The two clubs that qualify for the 2018 UEFA Super Cup can each expect to receive €3,500,000, with the winners receiving an additional €1,000,000

Between that and gate/television money it's imperative we do well here. There's millions of pounds to be made.

Those figures for qualification aren’t prizes per round, that’s what we get if we get knocked out at that stage, so there’s little difference financially between getting knocked out in Q1 and the play-off round, St Johnstone actually lost money a couple of seasons ago because they spent more than that on travel to Eastern European teams and played 3 rounds.

Theres no money to be made unless we make the group stage.

I have watched every session on Rangers TV and as I said in another reply; they are getting plenty of ball work, but the emphasis is more on fitness, which is sensible. They do two long sessions every day and it's brilliant to watch.

I’m not disagreeing with the way the sessions are being run, just found it funny that he said he hadn’t seen a ball yet when I’d seen them with a ball.

Wasn't Allen responsible for the array of bang average white british players we brought in at January? (I genuinely don't know, I don't think most people know his role fully)

I don't trust him at all until we consistently do well in the market, we will always buy good players, but the right amount and in the right positions is what counts

Rumours of 20M and Morelos going while bringing in several loans and free's doesn't have me feeling too optimistic yet

He was but we never have the same level of cash in January that we do in summer, the summer window is his real test. We’ll see how we get on.
