Nothing to do with Allen imo

we all know who he is, he doesn’t need scouted, hes a Rangers man according to Dyce and wanted to come and we are matching his 20k a week - sounds really straight forward

Allen hasn’t gave us one player that needed scouted, we didn’t know about and wasn’t a supporter of Rangers too (assuming Martin is)

He is the head of recruitment though and identifies the direction of targets to go for which at the moment is the best Scottish players we can afford.

Its easy to say this was a no brainier and would have happened without him but last season we signed Portuguese pish instead of players like this.

Heads of recruitment and scouts are different jobs and I think there’s a big misunderstanding about that and his role on here.

  2. On the topic of Beerman I never really rated him, thought he looked out of his depth apart from a reasonable game against Partick Thistle at home.

He came into the team at the same time as Bates, and Bates seemed to relish the chance and improved massively in the year since, I get the impression Beerman didn’t improve from the introduction to first team football.

You never really know how players will react until they get the chance.

Changing the topic a bit I saw we hammered Leicester 6-0 on their patch this week, but was surprised to see they hammered us 6-1 earlier in the season at Ibrox (or Auchenhowie or wherever these games are played). So, has something changed at youth level since  the 2nd half of the season or have the boys just stepped it up due to playing better opposition?

The game was at Ibrox, I was there, we actually played some decent football (probably passed the ball better) but Leicester had maturity and cutting edge above us.

Fast forward to now and the catalogue of games against top European sides has seen us gain what we were missing in that match in abundance, credit to Craig Mulholland and his staff and I think our academy is going places.

I cannot agree with that, if he did not mean it to be a snub to Murty he would have stopped at Murty and invited all the players around them both at the edge of the pitch, not nearly in the dugout with Murty left looking like a boy lost on the touchline.

All in my opinion of course.

I just get the impression everyone on the site would love if he snubbed Murty so will twist anything to make that the case.

  5. The Candeias celebration was about team unity, people looking for it as being disrespectful to Murty are clutching at straws.

He was showing how much he cared and especially to Halliday who’s had a nightmare all week. Candeias showed with his comments about Pedro that he doesn’t play for or against any manager, he plays for Rangers.

Wrong forum cunt he never played for celtic

He might as well have, he fucking embarrassed us more than any C****c player. Making bigman comments about how he was gonna do this or that all pre-season and delivering fuck all , his performance in the 5-1 game was worse than anyone on Sunday.

Rangers was too big for him, relegation teams in England were his level, honestly have no idea how you can defend him.

  7. The problem for everyone that says they’d rather not be in Europe is that if we’re not, then we have to play in the tinpot league cup group stages against teams from league 1 and 2.

which incidentally start 2 weeks before the 2nd qualifying round and the same week as the 1st.

Qualifying for Europe is the best scenario here for every aspect.

so what is it 2nd place goes into 2nd round and everybody else 1st round?

That’s it (unless Well win the cup) the 2nd round date is now much later and even if we get pumped out of it it’ll give us a proper pre season and Europe will start at about the same time as the league season for once.

all three Europa League entrants will have to play in the first qualifying round for the first time in history - at the end of June

That isn’t true. 3rd or 4th enter on the 12th July and 2nd this season will enter on the 26th July (unless Motherwill win the cup and they’ll take the second round spot).

  10. The format has changed significantly this season, finishing second is more important than ever because of the way the draw dates have changed.

if we finish second (and celtic win the cup) we won’t start our European campaign till the 26th July which is the latest a Scottish club has started for 7 years. This would give us significant advantages in terms of pre season.

On the contrary if we finish 3rd or 4th (4th only gets you into Europe if celtic win the cup) we enter very early again on the 12th July which will give us the same problems as last year.

Theyve added a preliminary round for the smallest countries so we’d either enter at the second or third qualifying round out of 5.

Its a hard task to qualify but we could have a much better prep time than last year.

Got to the stage where I've stopped listening to him.

It's the same auld shite every time and he doesn't ever learn from past mistakes.

Nice guy who was thrown in the deep end but his times up.

If we win the Scottish Cup and finish strongly 2nd every Tom dick and Harry will want to offer him a 3 year contract. I promised not to guess whether he will or won’t stay again till the end of the season because ive changed my mind about 10 times.

  12. He’s a dirty thug. Outside of celtic probably my least favourite player in the league, everytime I’ve seen him he’s committed utterly cowardly challenges.

His deliberate elbow on Miller in the first game at County this season was worthy of a lengthy ban. He’s also a useless player.

  13. Don’t really understand why so many ask for English managers like Pardew Allardyce and Warnock.

None of them have ever won anything or managed clubs with real expectations of trophies. They spend every game with 11 men behind the ball and try to win games with set pieces and long balls.

  14. There were folk on here saying FDB is a failure because he had 4 games at Palace and got sacked without being able to implement his style.

Yet Pardew has failed spectacularly in his last 3 jobs now in England, and quite frankly was given more time than he deserved, but he might be exciting?

    Bizarre.

  15. When Red Bull took over Salzburg they declared “this is a new club with no history” and the Austrian FA had to threaten them with legal action to tell them to remove that they were founded in 2005 from the club website.

Even joking about it is too far for me, they ruin football and everything we stand for.

WTF? Am I missing something here?

He was the Motherwell manager at the time and his player scored a goal against celtic that helped us win the league.

I was jumping about like a madman after McDonald scored as well.

I think he means that he believes Butcher is bitter against us now (going by BT commentary) but was clearly a great bear celebrating so much when McDonald scored the goal.

In reality I think he was just a shite commentator.

  17. I still think the players are playing for him, the second half showed that today, they were never playing for Caixinha.

Ovbiously the general feeling just now is gut wrenching disappointment but there’s no real alternative to him seeing out the season.

Yes and it wasn't enough. They didn't need to spend tons because they are the champions and have a superior squad. What we spent was never enough and the board and sane fans knew that.

It’s got nothing to do with amounts and everything to do with our 2 biggest fees being for Pena and Herrera, we spent more this summer than Aberdeen have in the last 20 years but we’ll be behind them soon.

  19. 1 hour ago, The Godfather said:

It's just a rinse and repeat of last season with slightly better players.

    Same outcome

When we continually appoint clowns and don' t spend money then this will continue.

Murty is a disaster and it is his fault this time because he stands about like a clueless tit praying something changes because he himself changes fuck all. His nice guy persona means fuck all to me now, get him chased asap. As for the board well they are just a cancer

We spent a fucking ridiculous amount of money in the summer! More than celtic did, we need to spend it well is the issue.
