  1. I personally would just rather see us stick with Goldson and Katic as the first choice pairing, unless someone who will be a drastic improvement on either of them is available in our price range.

However we will need cover so who do you get that is going to be good enough but happy to play second fiddle?

  2. I think you have to give the more technically gifted players a chance to climatise to the physical nature of the game up here.

Yes the results are the most important thing but I couldn't stomach the thought of a team full of players with the technical ability of Andy Halliday just because they throw themselves about a bit more.

Theres a balance to be struck and at times this season I don't think Barasic has been helped by the fact that Kent gives him very little help on the left hand side.

That’s current. We all know they will add players in the summer so really we are more than that short of matching them...especially when our second best player is most likely gone after his loan.

Just because they will add to their squad doesn't mean it will make them better.

Teams tend to have more failures than successes when it comes to transfers and they will have lots of outgoing players as well.

All we can do is improve our own position and see what business they come up with.

But as I said they could buy 100 million worth of talent and there is no guarantee they will play well with one another or adjust well to the scottish league.

  4. I don't think any Rangers fan is happy with winning nothing for so long. However I do believe some fans have ridiculous expectations built up from having lived in an era of vast spending and incredible success.

The current board are by no means perfect, money has been wasted and mistakes have been made.

However, unless someone with serious financial backing comes in and throws money at it, then we will probably just need to suck it up and hope to continue improving.

I know personally I would rather have the club in existence for the long term rather than throw the kitchen sink in an attempt to stop the 10, which results in the demise of our club because we simply spent what we didnt have.

  5. Are people forgetting the fact that they will have quite a huge change in personnel for next season?

They have at least 8 first teamers out of contract/end of loan. The new manager might not like the players he is left with and want to ship more out.

There are no guarantees the players they sign will be any better than what they had.

So its actually pretty difficult to make a statement on what we will need to challenge. The only thing that remains true is that they were there for the taking this season and we blew it by being inconsistent.

McCoist great legend of a player but poor manager awful commentator, entitled to his opinion though like us all.

He is truly dreadful. Can''t even fucking get the players names right.

Find it hard to disagree with RDB or majority of the posters .Our youth system does appear to be working .But the best of our youth are still under 18 and younger .

If the guys continue to develop and kick on then we are still at least a year or 2 from seeing them at first team level .

As Ajax are proving if your youths are developed properlly and good enough it's certainly not a gamble

Dunno Ajax are already selling/about to sell players who aren't even 20 yet for £70million plus per player...

De Ligt is only 19 and yet is competing for them in the latter stages of the Champions League.

Ultimately if you are good enough, you are old enough.

So maybe our youth players aren't quite going to achieve the similar levels of the players at Ajax's youth academy or our club/fans have a complete lack of faith in the youth to actually come in and prosper.

  8. I cant understand why we would be tempted to let a player go for £3m when it will cost more than that to replace him and with no guarentees they will be as good.

I know eventually everyone has to move on at some point but unless the offer is £5m++ which may or may not be realistic (nothing to a Premiership club) then I can't see him being sold.

Then again maybe Gerrard/Mark Allen have a shit hot prospect lined up to take his place in the team already but I doubt it.

You are aware McCoist wouldn't have sanctioned these wages?

I never said he sanctioned the wages or not... the point still stands that a "player" (and I use that word loosely) of Ian Black's Quality should never have been offered those wages.

  10. I am not debating whether or not 3m is a fair price for a player of his age etc...

Like I said before he might be worth 3m but if you cant find an upgrade on him for that price then you may as well keep him.

The most likely scenario is you sell him for 3m, buy some retard from down south who has an inflated price tag who gives you nowhere near as much on the park.

  11. I suppose you can say 3m for a player at 30 (turning 31 soon) who we got on a free would be decent business.

But If you can't replace his contribution for that fee then in my opinion we would be better to reject it and keep him.

Do we honestly think there is a surefire replacement out there who will hit the ground running for less than 3million?

    Not good pal

I think the club fucked it because they didn't anticipate the influx of supporters wanting tickets when we got to a stage we could challenge again

Like you look at the lower league years and even the first season or so back in the top division and it was piss easy to get tickets for even home games. Now it's a nightmare for people even trying to get a home game on general sale

I work away for 6 months of the year so don't bother with a season ticket as I'm guaranteed to miss half the games.

But its difficult as fuck to get tickets for games when I am actually here and able to go...

So they are trying to compare Worrall  saying Fuck celtic to The Thumb singing a racist song and some other scum player singing some other song in full.

😂😂 they really are a sad bitter wee bunch of taigs at the record.

Wasn't the Leigh Griffiths incident a racist song he was singing? I wonder why they choose to call it "offensive" rather that use the word Racist.

Well at least Rangers fans seem to have learned from the MOH debacle. I hope the club have too.

When MOH was being lined up and we were proposing to squander 500K on a gormless cunt who couldn't kill a ball with a harpoon, any suggestion that it was a poor signing was written off as rantings of a bigot. Well perhaps I am, but the point remains that if we are going to sign Scottish catholics they need to be exceptional players and even more exceptional characters.

Not all Scottish Catholics are celtic supporters.

I think its safe to say though that we should not be signing anyone who's had any allegiance to celtic..

His individual error cost us the game, but that’s the first real error directly leading to a goal he’s made in months. Which is more than you can say for pretty much every other defender we have at the club.

He’s a key player, and not one we should be letting go for less than £5m.

I think a major problem for us is that a lot of our fans are still valuing players as if this is back in 2002.

When a club like Aberdeen are refusing to sell what I regard as a mediocre CB in McKenna for 5-10million (depending which paper you read), then I can't understand why some of our own fans think getting 7m for Morelos or 5m for Tavernier is an acceptable deal.

We won't grow or be able to afford the calibre of players we need/want unless we start to hold out for the fair value of our players given what others are going for.

  16. Collapse league two.

    Now instead of 4 divisions comprising of 12, 10, 10 and 10.

Have 3 divisions of 14. I havent entirely worked out how many fixtures per season and all the other guff.

I just dont think we need 4 divisions in our country. The likes of Dunfermline, Falkirk, Dundee Utd etc...are all of a good enough stature to feature in the top flight.
