Coverage of the UEFA Semi-Final last year

ITV had the Hollywood catchphrases, better analysis and a better insight into the game. STV's coverage was amatuer in comparison - plus they were so negative in everything they said about Rangers. One more point - Old Archie isn't too good at telling the differance between the Gers players.

with stv it felt like they were commentating in a box because you couldnt here the same atmosphere as on ITV4.

Everything on STV looks cheap e.g. the cheap studio background theyve had for the last 25 years where as ITV4 where at the match and had there studio between the main and copland stand.

Also Andy Townsend had the "Andy Gray" like gadgets to show parts of the games and point out things we had did well or could of improved on where as andy walker was waffling on a load of nonsense up here.

Overall ITV4 shone through 100 times more than STV and from the tattie munchers champions league coverage this year seems as though they aint improved any even with setanta taking over.

ITV 4's coverage so much better. We were watching it in the pub with STV coverage and 5 mins into the game we demanded they change it to ITV 4. Instead of barracking us for our alleged anti-football Beglin and Peter Drury were praising our defense. Little things like that made a difference.

I think at 1 point Drury said something like if the UEFA Cup was awarded on guts alone they should just give Rangers the trophy. Coupled with beglin creaming himself everytime Cuellar headed a ball away. They also praised our fantastic support rather than STV who mentioned fuck all.

Andy Walker's face at the end showed how fuckin gutted he was

And who was the Irish co-commentator for ITV4?

Was it Frank Stapleton?

Jim Beglin, mate. He knows so much more about football than Andy Walker.

That wouldn't be hard.
