Tontospal 1,116
Given that less than 6 months ago Murray basically publically stated that the club was so desparate for cash that we would listen to offers for any player the fact that we are straight in to the CL group stages is a godsend. Looking down south there must be big question marks over the future of Newcastle. My understanding is that the previous owners, who incidentally pocketed tens of millions when they sold up, mortgaged the rebuilding of the stadium against future season ticket income so the loss of the EPL millions could hit them hard and they could easily end up like Leeds, Leicester, Charlton, Southampton or Norwich. I dread to think what could have been the scenario had we not given ourselves a chance to sort out the club's finances.
Skol 401
Bain admitted the stakes were high today and I agree with you - financially, today was vital. Let's hope it's the beginning of another great era in our proud history
