• Top spot and No.1 in the insanity charts for 2010 is Richard Dawkins, ethologist, evolutionary biologist, all-round smart arse and author of The God Delusion, getting himself involved in the Hugh Dallas affair. Dallas had been sacked over e-mailgate, a fact that no doubt would have brightened the day of Peter Kearney, media man for the Scottish Catholic Church, who'd written a ludicrous letter to the SFA demanding that Dallas be dismissed and followed it up with an even more ludicrous column in a newspaper claiming that Catholics in Scotland are under siege. Dawkins wasn't having any of it. He called on his fans to bombard Kearney with e-mailed images that satirised the Pope and his church. The cherry on top was the reaction of the Celtic fan who said he didn't care if Dawkins was in a wheelchair, he was still bang out of order. We think he meant Stephen Hawking.
