lancedeangers1 287
(Special exception in Bears Den please )In the hills and glens around the Somme a great division lay, waiting for night to pass until the break of day. The morn shone on our orange sons, amassed with bayonets fixed, the pride of Ulsters volunteers, the fighting 36th.Lest we forget, 1st July 1916No SurrenderGod bless them all. Bluenose1992 2
Going up to the Somme parade in East Belfast tonight. Would also advise anyone to go the Somme for one year for all the services at The Ulster Tower and in Ypres (amongst others), really is surreal. I went two years ago and seeing all the unmarked graves and memorials full of names with no grave really struck home to me the sacrifice of these men on the 1st July and throughout the war.Lest we forget
