MONZINO in the 7f handicap (8.30). An expensive Darley purchase that didn't make the racecourse prior to being picked up very cheaply by current connections, he makes his handicap debut tonight, his mark earned from a couple of fair efforts on Polytrack and good ground, plus a couple of complete blow-outs on soft ground. However, he actually made his racecourse debut in a Fibresand bumper back in February and he appeared to take to the surface very well, keen early but travelling as well as any approaching the home turn before his stamina (and possibly fitness) gave way. How that relates to a 7f Flat contest is clearly difficult to say, but his pedigree suggests this sort of test is much more appropriate and if this horse is going to win a race it's very likely to be on Fibresand, whilst he faces a largely exposed band of horses here. It's worth noting the parallels with the same connections' Mazovian, another US-bred who was bought for the same bargain basement price, and won his fourth Fibresand race last night a week after finishing tailed off on soft ground at Ripon, as was the case with Monzino that night.

Took 20s earlier,its now into 10s

Good luck :uk:
