WhosTheDado 32
We are the highest rated champions in the qualifiers we have 56 coef points then Copenhagen have 51 points. Would be good if this was true but Im not holding my breath.
crombie1873 142
I'd imagine it would only be between teams in the playoff stages.

disgruntled_bear 157
Posted in the other thread that the Turkish FA won't nominate another team or surely legal wise they can't. For the reason Fenerbahce are still classed as champions and the season results stand at this point.Yeah, the likely hood is that the Turkish FA will leave the decision to UEFA, unless they strip Fenerbahce of winning the league last season. Which is a option, but unlikely. It will be interesting tomorrow to see how this get sorted out.
caseyjones 3,009
What are you talking about? It's fairly simple that after tonight there will be 31 teams in the CL group stages including Genk.Uefa will add in one final team to replace Fenerbahce, Genk will have nothing to do with it. That will most likely according to reports be the highest ranked team who has been knocked out from last night/tonight.I was answering the op from the info he provided. He had the impression that we might qualify and I was merely pointing out how we couldn't. Read the posts before jumping in.
disgruntled_bear 157
Seems Uefa have made the decision mate. So let's get this straight Uefa have replaced Fenerbahce with Trabzonspor who are also involved in the match-fixing allegations? Yeah, it's a interesting decision and a quick decision. Think more news will follow later on.

caseyjones 3,009
Common sense from yourself would have noticed it was impossible for Genk to replace Fenerbahce. Which I merely pointed out.Truth of the matter there was more chance of us replacing them than Genk.
Mr Struth 137
It is meant to be going to the next Turkish team by default

simplythebest 11,453
Said in another thread, wouldn't really like to be in that that way, we had a good chance and blew it. Although obviously is such a situation occured the club would be unlikely to reject it.

Sweeney 241
Would expect it to go to another turkish team unless uefa punish them all cause supposedly a few are involved. If it didnt go to a turkish team, I'd say we would have a good chance of getting it. Uefa only see the money, and very few teams who are not in it have a fanbase the size we do. There isn't a scottish team in it so from a financial perspective, it is viable to pick us. Would get all scottish football fans interested as well as our worldwide fanbase.Nevermind, didn't realise Uefa had already given the spot away
markybear 136
It no doubt was a straight choice between us and transpon bla blaUefa hate us, we would never have got it. Imagine timmys face if we did get it though
