Guest
Rumours spread around the internet today that HMRC have frozen Rangers’ bank accounts. This is completely and utterly false as a creditor (like HMRC) cannot freeze a bank account. The only legal entity that has the right to freeze a bank account is the bank itself. The bank has the ability to freeze the overdraft accounts if a Winding Up Petition (“WUPâ€) is served by HMRC.View the full article

J_RFC87 761
If a winding up order is served and advertised bank accounts are automatically frozen , and as an aside the HMRC no longer can claim prefferential creditor rights .Correct - no evidence of a petition yet.HMRC have no preferential creditor rights, they're just in the unsecured part like most creditors (unlike the Bank who is secured). dan_ger 1,454
Being discussed on Real radio. All they have said is that HRMC have outlined a number of steps they could take next in a tax case against the club. One of those options is a WUP. As expected, non story.
