Broxi1872 183
Howard Webb of England and Scotland's Craig Thomson have been named among the 12 referees who will officiate at Euro 2012 next summer.Main referees for Euro 2012: Cuneyt Cakýr (Turkey) Jonas Eriksson (Sweden) Viktor Kassai (Hungary) Bjorn Kuipers (Netherland) Stephane Lannoy (France) Pedro Proenca (Portugal) Nicola Rizzoli (Italy) Damir Skomina (Slovenia) Wolfgang Stark (Germany) Craig Thomson (Scotland) Carlos Velasco Carballo (Spain) Howard Webb (England)Former Police officer Webb has refereed on the international stage since 2005 and took charge of the World Cup final between Spain and Holland last year.He was criticised in some quarters for his handling of a fiery match, but has retained the respect of refereeing chiefs and will go to Poland and Ukraine at the end of the season.Thomson of Scotland has also been named on a list published by the UEFA Referees Committee following a selection meeting in Nyon on Tuesday.Hungarian Viktor Kassai, who refereed Barcelona's 2011 Champions League final victory over Manchester United, is also included alongside experienced German Wolfgang Stark. There are 31 matches in the tournament, when referees will for the first time have added support thanks to a decision by football's lawmakers, the International Football Association Board (IFAB), to allow the continuation of the experiment in the use of additional assistant referees. The full referee teams will be announced in due course, but UEFA has named Marcin Borski (Poland), Tom Harald Hagen (Norway), Pavel Kralovec (Czech Republic) and Viktor Shvetsov (Ukraine) as the four fourth officials who will act in this specific function only.Referees will be required to attend various courses and training activities in the months leading up to Euro 2012, to receive training instructions and fitness training plans. TheMotor 2,208
Proof, if it were needed, that no one at UEFA has ever watched an SPL game.
