What exactly do people expect Ally to do with no front line?

Tell his keeper and defenders to stop hoofing it up to the invisible front line and get the ball on the deck

If there's no outball, then a long aimless pass is better than a short pass that goes to the opposition.

The midfield can't keep making the runs every second of the 90 minutes. Davis was immense today and some of those youngsters did themselves great credit.

That said, we did have some bloody good passing moves today and could easily have won that match by a few with a Cousin, Miller, Naismith or Lafferty available.

Did you see how high the midfield were in the second half ? No wonder Dundee were tearing our defense to pieces.

McGregor punting the ball to fuck almost every time he gets it is not the definition of needing an outball.

Also, why does a short pass need to go to the opposition?

little and healy

maybe not great but who was it that chose to extend there contracts , and sign the likes of bedoya mckay and ortiz when it was blatently obvious we needed a striker

It was Whyte who fucked up signings. Ally wanted Goodwillie, Miller, Hemed, Cousin and others.

Ally said the front line was what needed bolstering most at the end of last season but he also had to get back up midfielders and replacement centre backs.

People just want to blame someone so they can simplistically claim he's the problem, get rid of him and we're sorted.

Where would any "dream manager" have the team now given, no established front line since November?

As I pointed out in the other thread the comment about no strikers for half is a season is utter nonsense and is far from the truth.

Justify your claim.

Healy can only play intermittently. Little is far from established. Hemmings is even less established. McCulloch isn't really a striker.

Naismith out since November. Jelavic was effectively the same after downing tools and Lafferty's been more out than in.

Are you really claiming that Healy and Little would have us winning matches consistently?

Where is this decent front line that we've simply not chosen to use?

For the young guys that makes sense.

For Healy I sense it was insurance in case Whyte didn't come true on his promises.

I guess Ally's suspicions were well founded.

You should make yourself clearer. What does it mean?

edit...

Your edit doesn't clarify anything.

Mate, it was in the original sentence, therefore it was part of the context and clarifies the circumstances to which I was referring completely.

If you can't remember the start of a sentence when you get to the end of it, that's not due to any deficit in my explanatory capabilities, but rather the downfall of your own cognitive processing and comprehension.
