Guardian 4,281
A sore one for the Tims who have been emailing and campaigning madly to get UEFA involved. That's a good kick in the bawz to their tame C4 journo too.European football's governing body is confident the Scottish authorities will deal with Rangers' current plight.Uefa, in a statement, stressed that issues regarding club licensing and financial fair play falls under the authority of the Scottish governing bodies. It said it was aware of the "difficult financial situation" at Ibrox.Rangers have been in administration since February and Duff & Phelps has delayed naming a preferred bidder. The delay follows proposed changes to sanctions for insolvent clubs. The SPL will consider new proposals for financial fair play at a meeting on 30 April.Uefa said it has "been in close contact throughout with the Scottish FA and the administrators of Rangers FC, in order to explain the club licensing and financial fair play rules and how they would apply in different possible scenarios"."Such a situation falls under the authority of the national governing bodies responsible for evaluating and deciding on any necessary measure(s) they estimate appropriate to avoid similar cases occurring in the future."Uefa is entirely confident that the Scottish FA will deal with this case in full compliance with the national club licensing regulations and in the spirit of Uefa's club licensing and financial fair play regulations."Duff & Phelps says the announcement of the suggested new penalties has caused "a delay in the sale process".One of the three bidders has told BBC Scotland that his offer stands, despite proposed changes to sanctions for insolvent clubs.Bill Ng, the man leading a consortium from the Far East, said the club's survival was his priority. caseyjones 3,009
I don't se why anyone would have thought any different. They are complaining to UEFA about supposed political interference from Salmond, are they not?
iconicman 8
We always knew that to the be the case, however much they tried.Still, having it in the hands of Lawell's poodle is no comfort.
MosesMcNeil 1,664
They are complaining to UEFA about supposed political interference from Salmond, are they not?I heard they complained about the colour of the sky to UEFA. Not happy, either, that the UK prime minister isn't called Padraig O'Declan and have been lobbying UEFA about such political interference for years.I've also heard rumours about the team colours of Chelsea, Everton and France being subject of complaint to the high-heid-yins at Nyon. Gash07 26
I don't se why anyone would have thought any different. They are complaining to UEFA about supposed political interference from Salmond, are they not?Yes, as pathetic and unbelievable as it may seem Alex Thomson had the proverbial drum roll going for three days on twitter whilst awaiting a response. Only to be told to piss off.
nelsonRFC82 305
Yes, as pathetic and unbelievable as it may seem Alex Thomson had the proverbial drum roll going for three days on twitter whilst awaiting a response. Only to be told to piss off.First off, in regards to political interference, this is generally when UEFA/FIFA take a hard line against government interfering with sporting associations. For example, if a government tried to force a rule on a national association that contradicted UEFA/FIFA rules, that association would risk being banned from UEFA/FIFA competitions. An example being Nigerian government have banned the team from international football for 2 years due to poor world cup, and FIFA in response threatened to suspend their membership indefinitely.Yon prick Thomson, was trying to highlight the fact that Salmond (a politician) may have been attempting to influence HMRC (a government body)...why the fuck would that have anything to do with UEFA. Is he trying to say UEFA have jurisdiction over the SNP & HMRC? If he influenced the SFA, UEFA could call this political interference and punish the SFA accordingly (banning clubs from Europe etc.), seriously he expects communication between SNP & HMRC to fall under UEFA's remit? Fuck me!Maybe they could ban HMRC from the Champions' League?
Turnberry18 3,204
That statement should be read carefully for anyone reading as giving us any favour. UEFA may not be directly dealing with Rangers; but they are overseeing things. As regards 'political interference' chanced upon by Alex Thomson, what a fallacy. Thomson's narrative is becoming slightly more interesting: never a good sign for a journalist when he himself becomes the story.

Guardian 4,281
By the same token, Rosanna Cunningham wearing a celtic top to parliament when trying to push through the anti-sectarian legislation would also have to be investigated.Or the irish MP who kicked off over the bears singing on a ferry.Poor Timmy has been a very silly bhoy over this nonsense.Their big brother, Alex Thomson, that they got to fight their battle, turned out to be a bit of a pansy and got a slap from UEFA.They are the silly bhoys.
