Back to Clydebank, just reading their wikipedia page...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clydebank_F.C.

"Clydebank Football Club is a Scottish football club based in the town of Clydebank, West Dunbartonshire, on the western edge of Glasgow. The present club, formed in 2003, is a member of the Scottish Junior Football Association, and currently plays in West Super League Premier Division. They are not to be confused with either Clydesdale or Clyde.

The town has been represented by several previous incarnations in both senior and junior football. The current club can directly trace their development from Clydebank Juniors F.C. who were founded in 1899. After a short lived merger with senior club East Stirlingshire during season 1964–65, they were reformed as a senior club in their own right in 1965 and went on to be members of the Scottish League from 1966 until 2002. Following chronic financial difficulties, the club were bought out by Airdrie United and relocated to play in Airdrie under the new identity. A year later, supporters of the former version of the club re-established its identity, once more at junior level.

The 1965–2002 incarnation of Clydebank F.C. were the third club of that name to represent the town in senior football. The first club was formed in 1888 but never competed at a high level. Of more significance was the second Clydebank F.C. formed in 1914 and a Scottish League member from then until 1931. Although these clubs are not directly connected to the present entity in a business sense, they are discussed here given their shared name and their relevance to the development of the town's footballing history and its community."

Personally, I didn't know about ES Clydebank, any older bears shed some light on that?

If East Stritling went back to Falkirk and Clydebank had to spend a year in 'Combined Reserve League' who did they actually replace, was it Third Lanark?

Couldn't we just use the company behind Kilmarnock though rather than the actual club then that way it would be Kilmarnock who loose their history if they reformed and we would retain ours similar to what Green and co did expect they setup a new company?

Sevco [1] took over Rangers's name, trademark, membership and honours, so it became a continuation of Rangers.

If Sevco had taken over Kilmarnock, then it would have become a continuation of Kilmarnock rather than Rangers.

[1] Before it took over the club called Rangers, it was just Sevco, an off-the-shelf company like any other off-the-shelf company that you can buy for about £100.

Airdrie United/Rebranded Aidreionians are not the same club.

They are Clydebank rebranded. They hold the SFA/SFL share that Clydebank had.

AFC Wimbledon aren't allowed to be Wimbledon - because Milton Keynes Dons bought their club.

We hold the SFA share that Rangers have always had, and always will have. That's why they forced us to bend over backwards and take an illegal transfer embargo for this share - because among other things it was the only way to keep our club.

And the bit about the punishments is very important. If we were a new club, then why would it be punished for offences committed by some other random old club that happened to live nearby?
