Skyson1872 2,923
Not so much dead balls but how poor is mcgregor's crossing, shocking he's a centre half, can hardly expect him to whip them in like Fabregas.
bluedart1952 1,356
to be honest we have been like that for years it was the same under Walter the only ones capable are Steven Smith (who unfortunetley is pish), DaMarcus Beasley & Charlie Adam were decent back in the day but it was sole destroying watching Steven Davis or Nacho Novo float 99% of corners and free kicks into the goalkeepers arms and now unfortunetley the likes of Ian Black, Fraser Aird & MacLeod have taken over this duty, Barrie McKay is the best we have at it (not a specialist by any means though) other than Stevie Smith but unfortunetley McCoist doesn't know pace and skill when he sees it.At this moment in time Stevie Smith is the only player we have that can consistently cross the ball and and take a decent free kick, but he can't get a game and the only other one that seems capable of this is Peralta. Rankin1873 69
I agree we have been poor at set pieces for a few years but I didn't think Saturday was too bad in all honesty. Can't remember the ball being cleared by the first defender or being caught by the goalkeeper too often if at all?
iain1712 336
Stevie Smith is the only 1st team squad player who can consistently deliver a ball from open play or a set piece. I would have the rest of them practising this every afternoon. When he came on on Saturday peralta put his first three cross balls right on the head of a rangers player. He ain't no right winger but he can cross the ball well. Maybe that's why ally persists in playing him wide right as he can deliver a ball if he gets into position.
