do you not think that we have lost multiple millions over the years of this retail deal?

GM

Its a bit of chicken and egg though to be fair. If we had £20m of retail sales then we wouldnt be moaning about the retail deal we had. If we sell peanuts and not hit minimum targets set by our own board then figuratively speaking, yes, we would have lost multiple millions (tu)

Boycotts are costing us most of those millions! Using Kings own numbers then we are only selling 50,000 shirts but could be selling 500,000 and last year RR paid a dividend of over £800k but most of that was wiped by a charge of over £500k to buy unsold stock (due to boycotts) and one off costs for closing stores that the Club opened and mismanaged. We will not have the one off costs again and if no boycott was in place we wouldnt be buying back stock. So at a simple level using the shirt numbers mentioned by DK we get £800k+ for selling 50,000 shirts and ten times that if we are selling the 500,000 he mentioned. Thats an £8M dividend a year with no boycott and the Club actively pushing sales unless DK made a mistake about the numbers in his press conference last week.

The boycott may seem like a good idea so everyone has a panto-style baddie to blame but its costing the Club millions!

PLUS - its generally accepted and true most of the time that the higher the volume, the lower cost of sale so the %age dividend from 500k sales would be higher than 50k sales. (tu)

The worries aren't just the lower than expected profitability of the deal.

It's the lack of control of funds raised and the fact that we can be bought out of our own retail deal for a very small amount on the face of it.

The fact that SD have went to great lengths to obscure the deal as much as possible must raise questions for you.

I cant believe the board took Traynor back after his pay off.

Don't know the details of his pay-off but I'd have to agree with you

I don't know if Level 5 come cheap or expensive but I do think they are second rate and not yet experts in their trade.

Ideally, I'd rather not have the information flow between club and supporter to have to go through any PR company.

I doubt we've lost multiple millions due to Ashleys retail deal, we didnt sell anywhere near the amount of tops we used to, we used to sell 250,000+ a season, apparently the last few years weve sold less than 50,000
