As we will not be participating in Europa League qualifiers we will be placed in to the new group stage format of the League Cup, which means our first competitive game of the season will be on 16 July. We will be in a group consisting of 6 teams played out in a round robin format, with all 5 games played in July, with 3/4 days between each game. What's everyone's opinion of the new format of the League Cup? Personally I'm struggling to get excited about playing the likes of Peterhead and Dumbarton at a half-empty Ibrox (at lot of people will still be on holiday in mid-July.)
