After guiding them to the league one title, big heid has got the chop.

Wolves also sack their manager the same day

Warburton's name is probably going to be getting mentioned a lot over the next few weeks...

Thought it was very harsh on Caldwell to be honest. They obviously don't think he's the guy to keep them in the Championship

It's constant down south mate. A lot of managers are pretty harshly treated

I'm sure at one point the average time a manager got was 14 months , not sure if that was for all 3 divisions under the EPL or just the championship. As stated it can be a ruthless business and recent success quickly forgotten .

Aye it's cut throat down there. Don't like Caldwell one bit but looking purely at managerial record etc you'd say it's harsh

Too true mate , Caldwell ranks along with the likes of Pressley , Robson etc but it must be tough being a League winner in May and sacked before October's out .  Saying that , there's more than a few on RM who would bin Warburton under the similar circumstances .

Definitely seems harsh though , managers are basically only as good as their last 3 or 4 games  . The clubs have too much money and too little patience IMO , and there's always plenty of coaches willing to fill the dug out no matter how the previous guy was treated.

Problem is Warburton's budget dwarfs every single team in Division 1 and the top tier (Celtic aside). We ought to have won division 1 at a canter. We should be comfortably in second place now yet Warburton is contriving to fail at even that.  No surprise people want his head as he's coming across as stubborn and lacking answers.
