Poetry_In_Blue 1,043
Coisty has indicated that he is hoping that Ferguson, Dailly, McCulloch and McGregor should all be fit for the old firm game this weekend. Fergie has the ankle problem but doesn't need an operation at this moment in time, Dailly's has a small broken toe, McCulloch has been carrying a thigh strain and McGregor has had some puffiness around one of his knees. ALL four Rangers players who pulled out of the Scotland squad should be fit for the Old Firm match. Barry Ferguson, Allan McGregor, Christian Dailly and Lee McCulloch all withdrew from George Burley's first squad. But Ibrox No 2 Ally McCoist says Rangers are hopeful the quartet will be ready for the SPL crunch with Celtic. McCoist said: "We have injury problems, it's a fact. Barry has been to see a specialist last week and, thankfully, he doesn't need an operation. But he has been short of 100% fit for some time. "Lee is the same. He's had a thigh strain for a couple of weeks. Christian has a fracture in his wee toe and Allan McGregor has a little bit of puffiness around his knee. "We'll monitor their progress, but I'd be hopeful the majority of them will be involved at the weekend, but it is clear to see that they have been struggling a little bit with injury." http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/displa...2150143.0.0.php

Danny 9
Excellent, I suspect we're gonna need them. Well maybe not McCulloch. Shame Croatia didnt mnage to injure any 'tics last nite <_< Can't remember who but one of them had a good attempt at injuring Brown kicked him in the ribs. Modric I think it was. Class player. And stamped on Brown. I don't normally condone such antics, but Brown had retribution coming. Utter wee thug. And that wrap around tackle was a leg breaker. BigAmo 13
I suspect that all of them would bite through nails to play on Saturday.
Muff 245
I'd be hoping that McGregor, Ferguson and Dailly make it. We need all three of them to be fit.

Boab 73
"Lee is the same. He's had a thigh strain for a couple of weeks. Christian has a fracture in his wee toe and Allan McGregor has a little bit of puffiness around his knee. And he's still played. F*ckin beyond belief. Muff 245
Lee McCulloch has been struggling with that injury for months. He shouldn't be playing until he's fully fit. Maybe he would rediscover the form that he showed in the first 8 games of the season where he was pretty good.

Muff 245
Especially with this thigh injury he has been carrying. But he said the other day that he'd run through a brick wall to play, so I expect he will.

the goal machine 7,806
I think McCulloch could be vital int his type of match. Going to be a battle and if fit, could do a great job bullying Naylor. ----------Davis--------Thomson--------- McCulloch-------Bazza-----------Novo -----------------Darcheville--------------

Would be suicide playing him in such a role. Got a feeling Novo will be on the bench. ----------Dailly/Hemdani--Thomson------------ Davis--------------Ferguson-------------McCulloch --------------------Darcheville---------------------- If everyone is fit, thats how the front 6 will look on Saturday, IMO

Ferguson would support Darcheville. I think Smith knows that Nacho performs in the big games, so thats why I think he'll play.
Muff 245
Swap Ferguson and Davis around. Ferguson is never an attacking midfielder.

Id love to see a midfield trio of Thomson, Davis and Ferguson, But I dont think the Old Firm match is the time to be testing it. As ive said in a previous thread. Rangers will not double up on McGeady, they will use the sitting midfielders to stop him from cutting inside and getting a cross/shot in, which he has done on many occassions this season. If Broadfoot is playing fullback, he only has to watch the outside and prevent the crosses coming in, which he will be capable of.
the goal machine 7,806
He supports the lone striker a lot and I think he'll be asked to play the same role again.

I can't think of many players I would rather have in the team. our team is full of battlers , he has played recently and hardly won a header or a tackle , what will be different this week , Novo or McCulloch = Novo for me but if he plays he gets my support , just cannot understand why he gets a game , contributing so little , other players in the squad do not get that kind of loyalty from WS ,
