The Super-Casino bid has gone to Manchester, but there are 7 other casino locations to be determined, one of which is strongly tipped to be given to Glasgow...and more accurately, Ibrox

Guess we'll have to wait and see, if there are 7 other smaller casinos then it could well be that Glasgow will get one, but there are other areas also interested so it will be a dog fight even then.

"The independent has also revealed the sites recommended for another eight large and eight small casinos.

The areas where large casinos will be built are Great Yarmouth, Kingston-upon-Hull, Leeds, Middlesbrough, Milton Keynes, Newham, Solihull and Southampton.

Bath and North East Somerset, Dumfries and Galloway, East Lindsey, Luton, Scarborough, Swansea, Torbay and Wolverhampton will be granted licences for smaller casinos."

Looks like we aint getting any of them! I thought the whole complex looked really cool as well...

I live in Stranraer (where the D&G casino will be placed) and the bid centres on the idea that, as Northern Ireland will have no casino, plenty of folks folks will take the trip on the boat for the weekend.

Whether it will work out like that, I don't know.

j1mgg, I don't know what you are talking about. There are two cinemas in Dumfries as well as one in Newton Stewart and one in Stranraer.
