OlegKuznetsov 10,816
The extra two refs go behind the goals, watching for penalties and goal line decisions. It's been used at youth level and is considered a success. I wonder how it'll work out with stadia like Old Trafford where there's no space to go behind the nets. WatfordRangers 0
saw that on sky sports news... looks like it can make a difference but in all honesty it wont be used in england... places like moldova, luxembourg and liechenstein will probably use that initiative
keithgersbear 3,225
How is that going to work? 99% penalty decisions are made on interpretation and what you THINK is a penalty. For example, shirt pulling, heels clipped, obstructed etc etc. Having two people behind the goal, do you not think both will have different views on decisions? McBoyd 355
Good idea i think I ALSO think they should have little tv screens near the dug outs somewhere that the refs can check an incident if its a WAS THAT A FOUL? WASNT IT? situation..
TMWWBK 0
Sounds a bit daft to me. What happens if one of the officials is absolutely certain that a player has been fouled, yet the ref is absolutely certain that nothing happened? I take it these guys are just Consigliere's where as the man in the middle is the Capofamiglia?
bringonthbarca 25
Would like to see it in action tbh first before passing comment
docspiderman 1,228
Here was I thinking that Football Associations are always complaining about the lack of referees coming through the ranks. Platini & co seem intent on complicating a simple game.
rfc_no1fan 13
Only technology that should be introduced is goal line technology Anything else will ruin the game.
GersDude90 1
More refs just means more human error.

I think its one behind each, making two extra refs? Only way I can see it working is if they all have headsets to communicate, if its a stonewaller, the ref would see it as would a linesman, but for any extra help, they would see it and could flag
