There are not many players who play at a high level after major heart surgery. That's a testimony to the hard graft Goldson did behind the scenes. If he is calling out the attitude or work ethics of a younger generation, there is no one better qualified to do so. Take young Alex Lowry for example. He has more raw talent than Goldson could ever wish for, but it appears (I could be wrong) that he is not willing to put in the hard yards in to get to an elite level. All CHs concede goals. It's the nature of the position, but Goldson has been consistently good. However, he is at an age where his starting role isn't guaranteed. More mistakes happen to every player as they age. Some outlandish negative posts for a player who has given us a lot.

Goldson & Balogun formed a good partnership when Souttar was missing early in the season. Still, I always find it harsh on players when we play them out of position. Souttar is clearly not comfortable on the left side. He had a nightmare for 15 minutes at the start of the second half, which is what fans remember, but he also made some key interceptions yesterday. Souttar is a decent player.

That foul against Dessers, which would lead to a quick throw-in for a breakaway, was shocking. I believe it was the 4th official who called it. The one and only Mr Clancy.

Ever since the OF game, he has been hounded on here. It is incredibly OTT. And like I said, anybody but Matondo ever again. He simply cannot play football. Running the ball out for a throw-in was so terrible, you just had to laugh.

I thought Lundstram settled into the game in the second half. He looked out of sorts in the first half and people will remember that horrible pass, but he improved slightly. However, his wages appear too high for what we get with a new contract.

I would play Lawrence there if Sima is injured. Come to think about it, I would play you there big man, before Matondo.

If we were to win the treble (I have a better belief today than Wednesday) then we still need wholesale changes in the summer. We stood still after 55 and that was our downfall.
