They ARE professional. They get about a grand a game. Do you mean full-time ?

Need to be full time 100%. Increase of training, fitness and access to sport phycology to help better round the game in the match officiating area.

For some strange reason .I think there has been a power shift within the refs

Collum and Clancy are nowhere to be seen in the big games at this moment .I find that heartening 🤣

Don't think Collum has long left at the top and wouldn't be surprised to see him step down from his FIFA badge. He had been part of the VAR trials too so would possibly move into the VAR room more often IF Scotland takes on VAR.

  3. If its the same footage being circulated on social media, i have no idea how they can determine that ban. There is no way to judge the force, intent or brutality of it all. Absolute inconsistency all season. The referee has seen the incident and called yellow. Between McGregors red at Aberdeen, Jack getting kicked in the head at Kilmarnock, Kamara at Ibrox getting elbowed in the head then Flanagan vs them shows clear intent of penalising Rangers at every possibility.

  4. Jarred will be going straight into the English Championship. Very highly regarded in Australia as the best. Only referee that Mark Clattenberg trusted enough to take from Australia to Saudi Arabia for a few weeks without being bribed or paid off as well as his ability.

Great article, surely as compliance officers they would be trained in the laws of the game with extended interpretation. However if they don't have a footballing background i really can't understand how they can apply this without any kind of bias towards a team they may support. Also if the role is to exist and to be used, based on the current employee in the role, the nationality would be irrelevant so why not go for someone from the US, Australia, England etc they has no perceived bias or supporter of any Scottish club. This would allow for fairer governance within the role.

Said it for years, more so than ever, we will need a legal team on this

    http://theifab.com/laws/the-referee-2018/chapters/liability-of-match-officials-2018

Law 5.7 covers this, no liability against match officials.

In terms of flagging, flagging does not have to be done, the referee 's have comm's kits. The instructions may have been given this way.

Also without access to referee reports (which i believe the club will have access to) we cannot be sure who has given the instructions.

Apparently in their first tie they struggled against Domzale (who finished 3rd in the Slovenian league) and were lucky to get through on away goals.

Out of four games they've played in Europe so far, they've only won one (2-1 at home to Progrès), drawing the rest.

I actually watched the whole second leg against Progrès, Ufa were fucking terrible, their players kept losing the ball every second touch, and if Progrès hadn't missed several sitters and conceded a goal due to a defensive fuckup then Ufa would be out. They genuinely didn't look interested, like they knew they were only there on a technicality and saw it as a distraction. It's odd, because on paper their squad is decent and probably not much worse than ours, so I can only conclude that they don't really give a fuck about the Europa League.

Hopefully we thump them 4 or 5-0 at Ibrox so we can relax for the second leg.

Ive updated the initial posting with more info from last season, seem very average, i reckon we'd need to get the job done at Ibrox as going to Russia is never easy for any team.

Windass is a fucking atrocious modern day footballer

He is like an Orzil without his ability

Anyone that thinks this guy is our future needs a severe fucking shake

If his consistency improves hes the potential to be the best attacking midfielder in the league. Last season goals/assists ratio shows this

  9. Will work wonders for the game, lotta guys going on about referees being human etc and that is exactly the case but put it like this. These billionaire investors don't want to leave their investments on the hands to a small team of referees on a match day. They want technology to back them up. They don't want an "offside" goal given that can potentially cost their teams a place in the next round or even a cup/league. Ultimately fans are their own worst enemy when it comes to these things, they want all the money, glitz and glamour of players but their will always be followup from that. FIFA trialed this in over 1000 games, here in Australia its accepted for what it is. IMO the next move we will see is a "stop the clock". Added time should change massively next season, the standard "1" minute in the first half and "3"  minutes at end of second half will be extended massively.

  10. im for it, its part of the games progression. So what if it takes a few minutes for a decision. The issue is the time lost to tactical time wasting. some more changes will be coming next season when we will see less of 1 minute added at end of first half and 3 at second half. This will change to 2,3,4 minutes first half then 4,5,6 second half. Footballs changing for the better imo

  11. Rangers need to become more fan owned, IMO this is the only way forward for maximum transparency. Most clubs are held accountable by their fans but our previous three boards have got away with unbelievable negligence, reckless spending, money going here, there everywhere. I truly believe that the "billionaire" owner thing will never happen for our club. Poorly negotiated tv deals, lack of investment of the park, the absence from top flight football has hurt us deeper than it could have imagined. Its not the struggle to the top, its the scars that leave the biggest marks. Make no mistake, we are a worldwide club, our enemies set out to destroy us but the truth is we are destroying ourselves. Someone needs to be accountable to the fans. No ifs, no buts.
