Shocking decision to give not only a foul against him but a yellow card for that tackle. Was the kind of tackle I’d been wanting to see from the team all day.

It's really is that simple mate. Quality players take the chances we create most games.
The hardest thing to do in football is scoring goals.
Our players constantly miss sitters/make the wrong pass/make a cunt of it when through on goal.
Depressing
We had 3 or 4 shots on goal today and all of them barely reached the target. Dessers had one that was blocked but the rest were not struck cleanly at all. So frustrating.

We had them btw until Clement brought on Matondo and Wright.
It’s his own fault.
We didn’t look like scoring even before they came on. Total lack of quality in the final third throughout the whole squad.

Silva is one of the first names on the team sheet for me. He’s one of the only outfield players that got pass marks for me against them last weekend
I think he had a good game overall but he switched off and was at fault for their first goal. I would worry about him defensively.

No, I don’t think he’s good enough either, but he’s contributed far more than most other players in this squad. I would also cash in, if we can. However, he might get better.
Our lack of goals from our midfield, other forwards (except Sima) and defenders (except Tav) is a far bigger reason for not winning the league than Dessers ever will be. Yet we don't get 190 pages on their incompetence and lack of ability.
Yeah we’re in the unfortunate position again of going into another summer where you wouldn’t mind most of the squad leaving. Due to finances, we’ll have to pick and choose who leaves/stays. His 21 goals might well mean it’s easier to move him on compared to some of the others. It will be interesting to see how the manager views it.

No way he should be here, but 21 goals and someone will take him? The desire on here to punt our top two goal scorers is just a bit weird.
His overall contribution is nowhere near good enough imo. He’s also a contributing factor as to why we don’t play very good football. He doesn’t offer enough as a link-up player to feet or as a physical presence/aerial threat up front.
At age 29, he’s not going to get any better so I’d cash in if we can. Hopefully we can get close to our money back for him and Lammers.

How did O'Riley or whatever the fuck hes called find himself unchallenged, 20yrds from goal, 4 or 5 times in 20mins in that first half.
Poor.
Not tracking runners and unorganised pressing. If you watch the first goal again, O’Riley is standing on the touchline. He runs past Silva who makes no effort to track. He doesn’t even shout to Barisic or Lundstram to make them aware. Plus, they have no awareness themselves of him running into the space. Finally, Barisic and Davies make half-hearted attempts to close him down when he gets the ball. An all-around clusterfuck.

Diomande is in that group. Yes, he was rotten today, but I believe he has a bright future.
I'm not 100% sold on Ridvan.
Danilo & Cortes should make the list.
Think what you like, but Dessers and his 21 goals is here next year.
Why that opinion on Dessers? Because the manager wants to keep him or we’ll struggle to find a buyer?
Imo there’s no way he should be here next year. And his 21 goals should hopefully mean it’s not too difficult to find someone to take it.

Wouldn’t have made any difference today. He was largely anonymous in the December game.

Players have a cup final to play. Can't bury them all but Lundstram, Barisic and Tav were responsible for both goals.
Silva and Davies also both at fault for the first goal.

Probably but what can Lundstram do there.
He can not go sliding in like that when it’s completely unnecessary. Two minutes to half-time at the celtic end of the pitch.

Won’t be happening, not a chance imo and nor should it
Just pray PC has the balls to do something about the constant let downs in the summer

I didn’t mean that Clement was about to get sacked. I just meant in general it reminded me of a performance you’d see when a manager is about to lose his job.

This is the kind of performance you see when the manager’s about to get sacked. Shocking levels of intensity and quality.

From Clement after today’s game:
What can you tell us about Nils Koppen?
I had been talking with all the candidates together with the members of the board. The first time I talked with Nils we said it was a pity that we missed each other in Genk. We were there six months when I was working with the first team and he was working in the academy. He left after six months and went to PSV and that year we won the championship and he missed the big party! So I didn’t know him before we first talked but of course I took some information from people who worked with him in PSV and Genk. Everybody was really positive.
Are you pleased to have someone in that position?
It’s a very important position. I don’t want to look too much to the past in the last couple of months. I want to look to the future. He’s somebody who knows a lot of players, he has a lot of information and works data-wise really well. He has a lot of experience around that. He’s someone we need in the club to guide our recruitment and to find in this pool the best fish. But we have to really early with that as there are a lot of people in the same pool. We all think in the club that Nils can help with that.

Totally disagree with the opinion he was shocking or awful in the first half. There was room for improvement and he stayed on the ground for a little too long a couple of times, but he was constantly involved in a lot of our play. A few clumsy touches but he has technical ability and a footballing brain that most of the others in our current squad don’t have. We need to be trying to play to his strengths and get the most out of him.
I also think our style of play in general does not help our creative players and strikers to flourish. Our midfielders and full backs could do a better job of getting the ball to the likes of Cantwell, Lawrence, McCausland etc., in dangerous areas. Too often I feel we look to go out wide away from the goal rather than trying to penetrate through the middle like we did for the second goal. Even when the wingers get it, very rarely are they attacking the full back and getting to the byline or driving into the box.

Appointing a DOF who has never been a DOF? Most Rangers thing ever that. Hope he does well, he needs too
Director of Football Recruitment specifically. Not DOF. That feels pretty in line with what he’s already been doing in terms of scouting.

Worrying thing for me is that we’re still over reliant on Tav for goals, assists etc.
we need a peak Morelos striker, summer recruitment was meant to sort that out
I don’t think we did much to help Danilo today. Long balls and crosses are not his strength. He made a couple of nice half chances for himself but we didn’t do much from open play to put something on a plate for him.

Thought he was excellent today. I think the most important attribute he showed was composure. Had some really nice bits of footwork to help us keep the ball and play out.
