It's just showing a bit of faith. He's played so little for us until now that we still have to go by what we have seen on YouTube and heard from his peers. Big move for a young guy, so he needs the support . -

Surely he's got the cash to help us out of this! -

All this nonsense behind the scenes has made me REALLY enjoy watching us play. Every win means a lot again . I don't feel like moaning about bad passes or missed opportunities. Despite the pain, it's helped me as a football fan. -
Yeah I know I was trying to answer your question to the best of my knowledge

Come on lads do us proud -
I'm not FALLING FOR IT. I'm just showing a bit of faith and taking an elderly gent and his two grandkids at their word. I won't be dragged into a messy debate about looking for the good in people - I'm not that cynical.

There's two reasons any one would start a dispute on here. One is to argue a valid point without resorting to name calling. The other is because the person has issues and wants attention or is genuinly a timposter. There's far too high a proportion of the latter and they are driving away the former (hopefully someone like yourself).

Not sure what you mean by 27 million to Whyte's parent company. 24 million to Ticketus might be void. The big tax case might be settled at something more manageable (£10-£20mill might be a very good outcome) and over a long period of time. 10 million other debts seems high - I know we owe money for Wallace to a few others but this is speculation. All in, with a healthy dollop of luck, we might be able to pay a few million a year to our creditors. With a galvanised support and taking advantage of our marketing potential, this could see us through the other end in 8 years with a team on the pitch that can still win trophies.

The petty disputes on here have been getting worse. Some people really have no self control. Hopefully your thread makes the worst offenders take a look at themselves.

Absolutely fantastic gesture and the mark of a truly selfless human being. I really hope his money can go to save jobs - especially the jobs of the little guys who don't go home to a mansion every night. It's also an amazing lesson for his grandkids in how to believe in something bigger than yourself. I just hope he isn't reading this thread with the amount of stupid comments being made. His gesture is a greater one than many of us will ever manage.

I am prepared to retract my statement. Apologies for jumping the gun - I am just completely frustrated at the situation we are in and I didn't realise he was so senior. I'll edit the post (but I'm still annoyed with him).

Sounds like the actions of a vulture to me, but I will reserve judgement for now.

Fat free! Funny stuff. Have a rep.

They'll claim we owe the taxman 2 packets of bourbons and a box of custard creams.

This idea, absolutely 100%, has to be joined at the hip with Save Rangers. There is no way these two movements can be in competition. There has to be 1 idea, 1 figurehead, 1 campaign name, 1 motto, 1 bank account. If I had my way, it would be Alex's idea, Walter Smith figurehead & Save Rangers name/pledges.
-
YOUR idea doesn't matter. It could be the best idea in the world but unless you flesh it out in the detail Alex has and do all you can to drum up the required support, the only thing you will achieve is dividing the support. Just give us yer hundred quid, shut yer yap and see if it works out. Not trying to a dick, just frustrated

I can provide everything that is needed regarding the website for free. I can design, build and host the site on my dedicated server, but any assistance that other (professional and experienced) creatives can provide will be highly appreciated. If you are going to get the support of international bears, we will need a reliable online base where people can give us their details for contact at a later date. We will also need a team of volunteers using social media and comments sections on websites spanning the world to reach every available bear. The last thing we want is 10,000 bears in Thailand who don't even know this exists. Also, a catchy name and strong strapline will work wonders.

I'd be happy to help out with a web presence - a website, social media campaigns etc. But if the fan takeover went ahead I would insist on being the Creative Director

This has been kept silent for too long to be credible. Are we supposed to believe he only felt the need to talk now, so close to the end of the tax case and after so many months of investigations? If his information is so vital why wasn't he involved in the tax case?

Another thing about fan ownership which makes it very attractive is the ability to invest in other companies to generate untold wealth with our fanbase as the consumer base. As a (pretty extreme) example, right now I buy Warburtons bread and Grahams milk. If we had a stake in Hovis & Wisemans, I could change my brands knowing that a few percent goes back to Rangers. Think about the potential!!!
