  1. He's been decent since coming back into the team but I'm really pleased for him getting the goal. August '22 was his last goal? Must have felt great, particularly to score such an important one. He really created something out of nothing to begin with by making the run for the quick throw and taking the quick freekick he won too. Far too often in the past we'd have taken a breather and settled down again, having just got back into the game, but he recognised there was an opportunity there. Good example of a player taking responsibility, taking the game by the scruff of the neck and getting the reward for it.
  2. I thought the decisions were fine tbh, except the Mayo one at the end. I don't really understand why that one wasn't given - does it maybe deflect off his body/leg right before hitting his hand? Really the only thing I could think of. Sportscene just ignored the incident and not a live SKY game so no real analysis or explanation of it.
  3. Yeah, I think it gets lost because of Sterling's obvious physical qualities but he's technically a very good footballer with great positional sense/situational awareness.
  4. Great win, 3 points is all that matters in a game like that.
  5. Borna shouldn't emerge after half time and that should be the end of his Rangers career.
  6. I'm amazed he jumped back into management so quickly after being sacked by us. I know that it's sort of part and parcel of the game that if you're out of management too long, it's easy to slip out of the picture completely. Still, this seemed like such an obvious failure waiting to happen.
  7. He's a very clever player. Great positional understanding and probably a little underrated on the ball too.
  8. Comfortable first half, another goal for us early in the second half would be ideal.
  9. Trying to just stay quietly confident but I am desperate to see that cunt crestfallen at the end of the season.
  10. Rodgers called Kilmarnock's style of football "simple" before the match. Funny because they frequently went man for man press throughout the game. Killie are direct and well organised but I thought calling their football simple was pretty dismissive of a side who had beaten them twice already.
  11. Pressure ramps up even more now, confident the team will rise to it and get all 3 points tomorrow. Can't wait.
  12. He's the quickest to lose control of a match, usually for no reason at all.
  13. Manager and players deserve immense credit since he arrived. 15 wins in 17 league games is a tremendous run. Keep it going, one win at a time.
  14. It did go to VAR, they check everything. The speed of the conclusion/the conclusion itself is fine to be annoyed about. Suspect they will have asked the ref what he saw, the ref will have said both players pulling the shirts and that will have been deemed to not be 'clear and obvious'.
  15. Frustrating not to be top with so many chances spurned, but regardless, we've given ourselves an excellent chance of winning a league that few would have believed we could a few months ago. Some composure the next game would be nice.
  16. Composure has completely deserted us since the opening goal. Easy to say, but have to concentrate on scoring the next goal. Forget goal 3, 4 or 5.
  17. I don't think he's shown enough in the time he's been here. The "impact" he had last season was overblown, based on the fact Kamara had checked out. I did see some favourable stats for him recently (not goals and assists) but he doesn't pass the eye test. I do want to give him some time to get back up to speed after his injury but he's certainly not at the top of the midfield pecking order.
  18. Tbf to him, watched the game back today and he did anticipate and win an important header to put us onto the attack for the 2nd goal. Was still poor after their goal but thought it was worth pointing out.
  19. We've got a very strong defensive record this season, which is probably all the more impressive considering the calamitous first couple of months under Beale. Doesn't mean players shouldn't be held accountable when an error is made - particularly when we've conceded a similar goal on a few occasions this season. Hopefully this is the last time it happens.
  20. TBF, I think Aberdeen hoofed it down that channel so many times, odds are a few would go astray. But aye, a danger when the opposition play for long throws.
  21. Deserves a lot of credit for the run of form since the winter break. Keep it going.
  22. He was poor last night. Hopefully just an off night. Souttar was excellent I thought, won pretty much every header and use of the ball was impressive.
  23. Right before that, one of their players heads it onto his arm.
  24. Was quite telling when we played some great football in the opening 20 minutes that he was barely involved in it. Thought he had a poor game, Silva really worked their backline when he came on.
