  1. F*** mpenza he has no interest in us and we should be too good a club for him anyway. He is an average player who only plays for average clubs and has average ambitions.
  2. Not a great bunch, and most on it would be beyond our reach. 2 or 3 of them i would rate at most to be possibilities to enhance us...
  3. King Billy's on the wall - very funny. No surrender, without any offensive words etc. Dont know the correct name but the one- 'as i was walking down the copeland road i met a bunch of strangers '. Thats good..
  4. I have watched this player several times this year and believe its a great bit of business. There are similarities with prso in that he's big / strong / and wont score 30 goals per season. Lets remember what we NEED, - PACE - this guys quick, someone to hold the ball upfront when required - he is very strong and retains possession well, and most importantly a partner for boydy. The combination of the 2 ticks all the boxes - one has youth, hunger for goals, supports the club, natural poaching ability and the other has - pace, strength, experience. The fact that Walter and Coisty have acted so quick is also very encouraging. Well done lads.
  5. Im glad the Linfield game is not on this year, but not because of any negative publicity, just because i think it was becoming a bit predictable and a few years without the fixture would regenerate a fresh impetus for the game in future. Im a big supporter of equality and fairness especially in considering our rivallry with celtic and watch very closely the medias antics and rhetoric so when i was reading comments about the negative press regarding the Linfield connection etc it incensed me and reminded me of a quote that a certain David Ervine held very close to him and has also stayed with me, - (I don t expect you to be any less Irish to make me feel more British, and by god do not ever expect me to be any less British to make you feel more Irish) . This view should be applied to politics / religion or whatever and the media would do well to adapt such an attitude when it comes to Glasgow Rangers.
  6. I cant understand this hype about Scott Brown based on what i have seen of him, can someone please inform me why this player is priced at so much money and when he has demonstrated that he warrants such attention? Has he over a considerable period of time been so prolific in terms of his performances / goalscoring or whatever, i must have missed a lot because on what ive seen he is an average midfielder of spl standard and no more. We would be mad to spend what little money we have on this player. Who's place would he take in the team? What position would he play in? Would he significantly improve us? I know he's a gers supporter and that gets people carried away, but the same guy will happily go and play for celtic if the deals right for him. I dont think we can afford to risk that amount of money on another average unproven player. He has never played against champions league standard teams, or in a quality league like the premiership. The clubs in England who are apparently interested can AFFORD to take a chance, WE CANT!!!
  7. We have lost the title 2 years in a row now, we dont require prospective talent like Naismith, go for Healy he's a better player, proven international goal scorer ( goals against real quality opposition time and time again i might add ) and is the real finished article for the HERE AND NOW!!! This guy has the lot, is a constant threat, can create for himself and works so hard for the team, he would put Boyd to shame. Walter needs to act fast.
  8. Steve Davis is a better player than Scott Brown and has proved it in a tougher league, cant believe O'neill doesnt play him, there must be a clash there? Only problem would be money though as the likes of Man Utd etc were interested before. Hughes is a decent player and could do a solid job, with plenty of experience.
  9. There is so much similarity between the problems that used to exist at Windsor park and the current ones at Ibrox in relation to songs / atmosphere etc. There is so much potential at Ibrox if only the fans organisations etc would become more efficient and creative in their approach to addressing this. At Windsor there is such passion, loyalty and commitment from the fans and this is on the back of some really dire times in the past, what with a poor team, sectarianism and poor attendances etc. N.ireland fans have come through all of that and have now been voted the best in europe, this is what we the Gers support should be aiming for. The addition of the talismatic David healy would be a great signing as he is deadly in and out of the box and with his running ability etc he may well prove to be a great partner for boyd.
  10. Well done mate i agree with you. Reality is the biggest problem amongst this minority section of the support. The reality is that in this day and age you cannot and rightly should not sing or chant any OVERTLY offensive or derogatory songs which can and will be deemed offensive. Im from N. ireland and while watching the ossasuna game physically cringed and cursed whenever i heard renditions and chants which have been previously challenged and banned. Either the perpetrators dont care an ounce for RFC or they are completely f...ing stupid. The N.ireland national team had similar issues previously but there has been a dramatic improvement at games now and many people have made fantastic contributions to make you proud to be a supporter again. An achievement that N.ireland received a best supporters in europe award for last year, and that is on the back of what our wee country has been through. The club cannot defend any blatant offensive or discriminatory behaviour which has been highlighted by the banning of the billy boys and versions of simply the best. Any phrases which use offensive/derogatory language- eg FTP, are out of order and cannot be tolerated or defended. The term ( up to your knees in fenian blood ) has been deemed offensive and also whatever you may personally think is not acceptable. There is however a difference in singing certain protestant folksongs which contain no threats of violence, or remarks which abuse someone elses religion, race or colour. For example the singing of the folk song The Sash, is NOT offensive and is a part of our heritage and culture, something that must never be allowed to be tarnished and should be defended and guarded. We must never attempt to make anyone feel any less catholic/irish or otherwise just to make us feel more British/protestant etc and like wise no one should expect anyone to be any less British/protestant etc in order to make them feel anymore Irish/ catholic etc. There will always be those out there who only need to open their front doors to be offended, like the ones on certain roads in N ireland who get up deliberately at 6am on certain mornings of the year to be purposly offended by a 5 minute protestant band parade, or even bussed in to the area to be offended. ( i kid you not ). We can cope with these habitual and ridiculous people as long as we are sensible and get our own house in order, but at the moment we are being torn apart at the seams and our reputation is being tarnished from within by these stupid morons who are giving the anti rangers multitude all the ammo, excuses and evidence they need. I am Protestant and married to a catholic, have friends who are of different races and religions and you know, who gives a f..k its all irrelivant, we are all THE PEOPLE regardless. Look at the problems we are having on the playing front, thats were we should be concentrating and not all this unnecessary and out of date bigotory rubbish. On tv at the ossasuna game i seen a guy with a paramilitary flag, heard banned songs and witnessed violent and confrontational scenes. The club are gonna get hammered for it thanks to these dickheads. Its time for the REAL RANGERS SUPPORTERS to stand up and drive these elements out.
  11. Team should be built around Macgregor, the vastly improving hutton, wee Smith, fergie and hemdani and boyd if they give him a strike partner. The players out should be, murray, rae, svennson, egiohgu(or whatever you call him ), sionko, prso, sebo, klos. This would free up enough wages to pay better money to maybe 4 or 5 better quality players. The rest of the squad are good players on their day but lack some consistency and would be usefull to keep. We desperately require a couple of players with individual qualities and pace that can give us something in games like the ossasuna one. Laudrup and gascoigne come to mind. I dont know what anyone thinks but i feel there is a huge void left by the departure of Peter lovenkrands, because although at times inconsistent, whenever he plays in his natural striker position he was a huge threat to opponents due to his electric pace and his goalscoring ability. Weve never replaced him and he is flying in Germany and top of the league. ( a case of - dont know what youve got till you lose it... ).
  12. Your frustrations are widely shared im sure. Your correct that we need to come together again, but in doing so we need to be clever, sensible and realistic for the goodness of the whole club and our declining reputation. On the increasingly infuriating issue of sectarian chants etc we need to be carefull and comply with certain rules etc, but what is really needed is a thorough examination of songs, chants, bigotory, offensive behaviour, violence at clubs on a worldwide scale. Im sick of RFC constantly being singled out whenever i know we are no worse than many others. By carrying out in depth research im positive that we could educate uefa and the rest, and highlight much worse offenders and put our failings into perspective. We can only defend ourselves though if we are sensible and stop all OVERTLY offensive chants etc. Singing folk songs like the sash or no surrender etc are not overtly offensive and are merely open to interpretation and should be defended wholly, as long as there isnt specific derogatory remarks.
