  1. Tbh as much as we’ve not been great, people are forgetting we had loads of European nights like this under Gerrard. 1 goal might win this game, we’re still in it at the moment
  2. Bosz won’t change, it’s been his downfall at all the clubs he’s managed. It plays right into Arsenals hands. Sadly it’s a way of playing that works well against inferior opposition because they back themselves, as we found out
  3. My point is that in a period of 12 seasons, they won 2 more than us and by a far far greater margin on those wins (barring the 2008 season which went to the final day), than any of ours. Their 10,000 extra seats capacity gives them a roughly 1/6 advantage over us compared to ours. It’s amazing how the league titles over that period also follow that ratio (2 extra out of 12 seasons). This past decade has been a shambles, but even if we become more competitive, even delivering half the league titles over the next decade, is punching above our weight financially. We start every title race behind them, because they can sell an extra 10,000 ST (which are crucial to income) than us.
  4. Even before then, the tarriers had been more successful than us from 2000 until admin. Open your eyes, we won 5 titles from 2000-2012, 3x of them on the final day of the season. By contrast, they won 7 titles, most of which they won by a big margin and weren’t down to last day heroics. There’s a reason we’ll be behind them in trophy count soon. Admin etc didn’t help, but starting at -£25million to them every 5 years is a massive factor that was crippling us long before that happened.
  5. Their ground capacity means we start at least £5million behind them each year. That’s massive over a period of 5-10 years. Amazing how their most successful period in history and our worst (2000-current day), coincides with them completing their ground and having a run at bigger attendances…
  6. Probably a godsend Scotland loses its automatic CL spot season after next. Because we’re just handing them £30-35million a season from CL alone, plus if they win a game it’s an extra £3million per win. 55 needs to be a lesson. We absolutely fucking blew it and it amounts to gross mismanagement by everyone involved. We could’ve pulled away from them and put some clear daylight between us, instead we’re back to 18/19 in terms of financial gulf (with a worse manager).
  7. Can’t start both Matondo and Sima, you need one of them as an option off the bench and neither offer much in possession. Id pack the midfield, make it a tough first half then bring on pace when it opens up. They’re not a great side and likely playing their 3rd choice keeper, so we need to take shots when we can and be clinical. Butland Tav Goldson Davies Borna Lundstram Raskin Lawrence Lammers Sima Dessers
  8. Scored the most goals of any of our strikers this seaso , with the least game time
  9. No but the board do, we can’t go nuclear over winning 2-0 against a St Johnstone side who sat in, after losing our best striker to injury and a 2 week international break. Christ about 80% of Walters league games were like today. My concerns over Beale aren’t on days like today, it’s the big games where he seems to get things wrong
  10. Tarriers are struggling against Dundee at home, we need to be more patient. Not going to stuff teams every week.
  11. Maybe not the pitch so much, but conditions at Mcdiarmid are always brutal. Rarely ever seen any sides play that well there, it’s always a slog
  12. As much as we don’t believe in him, some of the reaction is ridiculous. First game after international breaks are always rotten, especially away from home on that pitch
  13. Love how his agents saying he’ll move away from Santos for a big transfer fee. Literally not one side in Europe fancied him on a free this summer, so I don’t know what the fuck his agents smoking
  14. We can’t appoint a manager who’s only managed in one country at one side, regardless of how well they’ve done. It’s a gamble, because they’ve never shown any ability to adapt to new leagues/surroundings etc. When Beale goes, we need to bring in an experienced manager, who has managed in multiple countries (preferably 3+), has a clear attacking style of play and a record of improving sides. Winning trophies is a bonus, but if that’s not possible then we want someone who has got close in bigger leagues. Project managers haven’t done anything for us, Gio looked competent because he’d done well in Holland but it didn’t translate here domestically. It’s why the likes of Favre, Hassenhuttl, Muscat, Almeyda, Glasner would be better choices than someone who’s done well in 1 league. They’ve shown they can adapt to different surroundings and will have more experience and knowledge of how to manage in different environments (and Ibrox is almost unique), compared to someone who’s done well at 1 club/country.
  15. Probably because we keep signing players with a history of knee injuries or who haven’t been able to consistently play over 30 games a season throughout their careers…
  16. Yilmaz needs to be sold ASAP whilst we can still recoup any of the fee, before he becomes renowned for having hamstrings made of glass. Fucking hilarious how Wilson and Robertson hung their hat on him being here for 5.5 years, long-term planning etc. Rather than quietly acknowledging we’d made a mistake and selling him at the first opportunity to recoup the fee
  17. Not sure, the way the crowd turned means as soon as he next slips up, it’ll go nuclear again. I’ve never seen a Rangers manager come back from that. Happened to Advocaat, McLeish, Warburton, Caixinha, Gio, seems like it’ll happen again
  18. Redondo. Never spoken about as much as the likes of Makelele, Gattuso etc. but he was a phenomenal player and should be in the conversation of greatest CDM ever, but never is.
  19. Agreed, we need to be a bit ambitious and go for the likes of a Favre, Rangnick, Hassenhuttl etc. 2 of them are out of work, one’s managing Austria. All 3 have the below in common: Managed in 3x different countries. Won domestic league titles. Play attack minded football with a clear playing style. Managed for at least 10+ years in European football Clear track record of working with DOFs and focusing primarily on improving players None of them will be cheap by our recent standards, but all of them would be an upgrade on anything we’ve had recently
  20. Agreed, he’s basically just explaining how the summers business went. There’s bits of information there from the clubs side in terms of the wage budget and the goals (bringing down the average squad age was vital).
  21. Lawwell now vice chairman of the ECA, can’t be good for us
  22. I read a worrying stat that McGregors won more trophies at Hampden in 10 years, than we as a club have won in the past 25.
  23. Dessers has scored 1 goal in open play and it came off his thigh. We have to play Danilo. It’s really that simple
