  1. See if we’d signed Lammers and Dessers for free, we’d still have overpaid.
  2. We won’t be in Europe post Xmas if we lose tonight, no chance we’re winning away at Betis and could see the other game being a dead rubber draw
  3. It is when he comes inside and runs into 3 players when our CDMs are pushed up. No need to go inside there. Both CBs at fault also, but Cantwells played a massive part in that. Plus his pishy whinging at the red after he’s fallen over just was the icing on the cake
  4. Ordered 4x items on Black Friday, one arrived by itself but Tbf the other 3x are apparently in transit. Can’t complain really, especially with free delivery and about 70% off
  5. He’s a streaky player, some months he’ll look like he’s never seen a football, others he’ll be on fire. Was the same at his previous clubs also
  6. Absolutely mental money to be throwing round for a 10/forward who’s scored about 5 goals in the past 5 years. Club saw us coming, if we’d signed him on a free on £20k p/w wages, you’d still say we’ve been robbed. But paying him that (or more) and then giving him a 3-4 year deal with that transfer fee, is probably our worst bit of business ever.
  7. Balogun is very good in the air at attacking set pieces, should’ve scored yesterday but on another day he’d have 2. Goldson offers barely any attacking aerial threat from corners, any time he connects it seems to go miles over the bar.
  8. I’d take Clarkston over any of our midfielders today
  9. Lundstram dropping back between Goldson and Balogun to collect the ball, with both Borna and Tav alongside, means we’ve got 6 players behind the ball when starting almost every attack.
  10. I don’t see why Scottish refs don’t book professional fouls. In Europe if you stop and attack it’s a yellow. In Scotland, you get 4-5 of them and then when the yellows coming you commit a yellow card offence next because you know it’s due anyways.
  11. They are like us under Beale/Gio, really struggling to break down sides that just sit in, especially at home
  12. Strange one, Ross Wilson was always decent at getting good deals for players when we decided to sell them. His flaws were he couldn’t pick a good player and didn’t force sales when players were winding down their deals e.g. Morelos and Kent. But we did very well to get £40million plus add ons for Patterson, Bassey and Aribo
  13. As someone who played Ice Hockey many moons ago at youth level for Ayr, I can’t believe the guy is getting charged for this. It’s so easy when skating at speed to lose control and your skate ride up. Yes it looks like an unusual motion when viewed, but I’ve seen some horrendous tackles with intent go unpunished that luckily didn’t injure the opponent as badly as this. Neck guards should’ve been brought in years ago. I used to wear a foam shower cap around my neck, because my coaches knew the risks and didn’t want any possible neck injuries when a squad of under 12s were playing. You couldn’t buy neck guards, so people made do with alternatives. Some players even worse face cages incase the puck hit them, I’ve seen first hand someone take a shot in a training drill after the whistle and it knock someone’s teeth out. Really hope the bloke doesn’t get done for it. It’s a horrible incident and one that could and should’ve been prevented long before now.
  14. It is worrying they can make £40million in profit and we struggle to make any. Either Desmond’s taking a lot out of the club, or they’re going to have some serious cash in the bank, even when legal payouts etc happen. Does make you worry that any time we win the title, they can go and outspend us to tip things back in their favour. We need to box clever and get this player trading model working, or consistently quality for CL, or both.
  15. Agreed, it’s no surprise almost all his Rangers memorable games came in European matches. He’s still decent player domestically for goals and assists, but he was a man down for the first half of the 21/22 season before his injury.
  16. Should be fine, the bottom 4 are dogshit and at least it’s happened early on in the season.
  17. Lol it’s a good question, but no. I’d rather we either try and get more from Lammers (as we’re stuck with him), or we use any funds from selling/loaning him on someone else. We know what we get from Kent and it’s not good enough domestically. We suspect we know what we’ll get from Lammers and it’s not good enough domestically. But we don’t know that for certain (yet)
  18. That’s fucking hilarious, what an absolute shambles. Downed tools with Alfredo for the last 12 months with us and he’ll be playing at Home Park in Jan and Morelos in the Brazilian 2nd division. Fucking clowns.
  19. Would you say 1 goal in 9 games is a good return from our main wide threat? Yes he got a handful of assists, but 3 of those were from penalties if I recall correctly. Whilst that’s good that he won those, let’s not pretend he was scoring and assisting loads and running sides ragged. Our main attacking threat post Xmas in that campaign, came from Tav.
  20. If he’d been on fire in Turkey but face didn’t fit, then maybe you could justify it. But he hasn’t kicked a ball domestically since May 2021, which is 2 and a half years ago. He was atrocious for us under Gio domestically and Beale, I doubt he’ll ever hit consistent form again like in the 55 season. This “form” he had in the Europa league run is a bit overhyped, he got 1 goal and 5 assists in 13 games that campaign. Yes the assists look good, but barring Dortmund he didn’t run anyone ragged and the penalty assist against Red Star was fortuitous at best. Good player on his day, but his days are few and far between. Our rivals have players who score 10-15 goals a season domestically in his position (and those players aren’t even that good), Kent’s return of 5 goals in his last 60 domestic league games, is woeful and not the level we require or should be aspiring to.
