  1. Hutton, Naismith, Whittaker. The rest were atrocious. McGregor was completely at fault for the 1st goal, and Darchevilles miss was awful. Ferguson couldn't get a free-kick over the f*cking 2-man wall! Smith set out too defensively, and basically we paid for it
  2. my dad used to give McCoist contact lenses (betcha thats one you didn't know!), so met him on a few occasions when i was younger. i have a signed football by the big man!
  3. The main questions are: Whittaker or Papac at left back? (for this i would go for Whittaker, he scores goals and hasn't he scored 2 goals in 2 starts in the spl for us? also Papac was outclassed against Barca) The midfield? Lyon are going to dry and dominate this, if we let them, its game set and match to the French Champions. Juninho needs to be niggled constantly by a composed player, who CANNOT give away needless fouls! For the job, i would pick Thomson to man mark him, and Hemdani to play a zonal in the same area as Juninho. This way Juninho is constantly marked, but we have a cultural player who can spray the ball around. I would play McCulloch as a player drifting onto the wings, with Baz as the attacking force and motivation we need. Up front? Naismith! Give the lad a chance, hes looked quality and runs at defences who will be under the strain of our counter attacking football. Alongside him, Boydy! Out of anyone who gets a half chance, you'd want it to be him because he is a natural predator. Also with Boyd providing the knock downs, it gives Naismith a lot of balls to run on to, and possibly set up one of our greatest nights ever in the Champions league. Go get 'em lads!
  4. i'm going to go for a 2-1 win to rangers, with adam and naismith to bag the goals
  5. I would have to go for option 1, just for the bragging rights over the timmies. And champions of Europe would be the best thing the club would ever achieve!
  6. i live in plymouth (deep south of England), but was born in Paisley and lived around Glasgow til i was 7. My entire family is from Erskine and are all Rangers die hards, should i support Plymouth Argyle because they are my local team? Despite the fact i frequently make the 1400mile trip to see the mighty Rangers play!
  7. whats webster done thats been that bad? he scored on his debut didn't he? also with weir going, he could be the man to step up and take his place
  8. Big Marv kept us believing, surely he should be in our hall of fame for that alone? the big man was a legend, even if he wasn't a brilliant footballer, thoughts?
  9. well obviously 50,000 isn't going to sound as mighty as 100,000 as the all standing Ibrox got against the tims on a few occasions. But even in the 90s, when it was all seater, was the atmosphere a darn side better than it is now? I remeber watching Rangers in europe in the mid 90s, and i always remember it as a lot louder than it is now
  10. unfortunatly UEFA have taken a hard stance against us, so theres not a chance of us going back under them. Only hope is some of the tripe Strachans been sprouting about a Euro league, runned by the money men and not UEFA. IF (and its not going to) this happened, im sure there wouldn't be any objections, but until then (which will be a long long long time) we're stuck with things as they are
  11. Being a young member, im subject to a lot of stuff from my dad about the good old days for Rangers, when we could sing what we want etc and it was merely accepted as part of our identity. Recently we travelled 700 miles to see the Gers, and the atmosphere was a bit flat. So im asking a question perhaps directed at the followers who can remember the days of "can u go a chicken supper bobby sands" etc. Where the old days where Rangers were, lets face it, a dominantly protestantly rooted club. Or do you prefer this new era with little prejudice IN THE STADIUM thoughts?
  12. lets kick lumps out of the little bastard when we go to the Nou Camp, show him what anti football really is
  13. I believe that we will qualify, but we are experts at making easy jobs hard for ourselves. When i look at the squad statures of other clubs compared to Barce, you think their not really up to much. I wouldn't say we could go all the way, but we could get to the quaters with a favourable draw in the next round (if we make it) WATP
  14. why are we even contemplating 2nd ? i expect 2 wins against barca
  15. hullo hullo we are the billy boys hullo hullo you'll know us by our noise we're up to our knees in grass and mud surrender or y'ell die! for we are the glasgow rangers boys! 1-0, bring on the Barce
  16. get off adams back everyone, he scores goals and whilst he does have the odd howler, hes still young and good scottish talent. hopefully as fans we will get behind the team for once being slightly hypocritical here but faye is SHITE!
  17. Agree and anyway it is bigoted against the Club Deck!!!! lmfao that has got to be post of the week *chuckles*
  18. that version of the song is FCUKING quality! would love to hear that belted out at Ibrox, the version off rangers.co.uk is absolutely naff but this one is genuis. Full credit to Jiminez if he invented it, lets try everything to get this as the new billy boys :bouncy: :beer2:
  19. that song is absolute garbage. Sounds like a 5 year old wrote it, utter garbage. Would cringe if i heard that at a Gers game, although the tune is fantastic and the river plate version is moving. But i believe we could incorporate some better words into it that utter "WATP we welcome the chase etc. etc." thoughts or am i just being too loyal to the billy boys?
  20. unfortunatly the atmosphere has gone flat. I was at the home Red Star leg (travelled 600miles to see us) and 35,000 with the most of the singing coming from the broomload, copland was dead, all it needed was a tumbleweed. We need an anthem, problem if we use the billy boys tune but change the words we'll still get fined because a minority will stick use the up to our knees in fenian blood etc.
  21. Rangers are one of the best followed clubs in the world. Come the champions league, we should not fear anyone, we are a huge club and personally i want an atmosphere that when barce and co. walk down the tunnel they feel fear. This season in the CL we have nothing to lose, no-one to fear, and one of the strongest squads we've had in years
  22. Hope I didn't just see you compare Boydy to Fred of Lyon there. Musta been a bad dream not as in hes good like Fred, as in their both lazy shites
