  1. I was just about to say exactly the same thing.
  2. I don't actually believe walter has what it takes any more to deliver us the league (even from the position we now find ourselves). His negative tactics and constantly playing players out of position will cost us by the end of the season. More often than not the teamsheet before each game makes me cringe. I hope Im wrong but I think we could still find ourselves in a similar or worse situation than last season.
  3. Davis, Mendes, Boyd and then Bougherra (although he has been excellent in the last couple of games, if it was on current form he would be top)
  4. Manchester - Followed by loosing the league to Celtic after having such a commanding lead - Followed by a shit signing policy (3 strikers in, and pish ones at that when we needed to strengthen in other positions, most noticeably midfield) - Followed by putting out a makeshift midfield against Kaunas and subsequently getting knocked out of Europe at such an early stage. Yes it was a great 4/5 months
  5. Why Boyd? Because you have a personal gripe or because he has put us on top of the table? What kind of personal gripe would I have? I think for the money we'd get for Boyd we could get a much better striker, plus I'm confident that Lafferty and Naismith are going to come good. Wish i shared your confidence mate. Naismith and Lafferty are nowhere near Boyd's goalscoring ability imo. Neither of them are 25+ goal a season strikers, but I think between them they'd score more than enough goals. If not we have Miller On what planet would you be able to get a striker for Boyd money who has scored 21 league goals already this season? Without his goals we would no doubt be in a far worse position football wise, and therefore worse financially in the long run. That wouldnt be very good business really. God knows why Murray ever considered selling him in the January window. I personally think if he had gone then it was season over, settle for second place time. Basically Murray is now calling to win the league because he didnt get his January windfall and wants it now. Im sure if the money had come in for Boyd he wouldnt give a shit about winning the league. But thats just business. Your confidence with Lafferty and Naismith is nice to see, and I'd like to hope I can continue to have that confidence. The thing is its not speculation with Boyd. He is scoring goals and is more likely than anyone else to continue doing so. I dont understand how anyone can have the clubs best interests at heart and say 'sell our top scorer'. I couldnt agree more.
  6. Dobbs, Mccan, Namouchi, Cousin, Cleland, Petric and under Dick Advocatt there was a dutch player I think we signed him for around the £4 mil mark (CD, DM) but I can't remember his name.
  7. I was just thinking the exact same thing earlier on. No doubt he will be on the bench for the rest of the season.
  8. Its Davis for me hes played consistently well this season apart from the odd game. Bougerra has come onto some good form also recently. Mendes plays very well most the time also, however I think Thomsons injury and the intro of Ferguson has had a negative impact on his game.
  9. Thatll be good I could go to the game then!
  10. If he went 442, i'd rather a: :mendes: :edu: :fleck: :boyd: :lafferty: Never going to happen is it? Youd drop Davis?
  11. I put yes and no. I'd would have put Boyd and Novo up front (if Novo hadnt been injured - I dont think hes back anyway?). But I would probably have Boyd and Lafferty now, even though I feel Lafferty hasnt proved himself in any position thus far. Millers form has been dire in the last 6 weeks, so I wouldnt start with him. However I think Walt will go back to his 4-5-1 tactics with probably Miller upfront or even Lafferty (even though Boyd played far better upfront on his own against aberdeen than Miller did).
  12. We've been playing for a couple of draws recently (thats why we are two points behind and are lucky we are not more behind). In both games this season we have had the upperhand, even though they managed to win the last one. We should go for the win, but I feel walt will play a 4-5-1 possibly with Lafferty or Miller up front.
  13. I thought Edu and Aaron did well last night. Lafferty also had a decent first half display. I was disapointed in Velicka and also Naismith (who hasnt really shown much in the last couple of weeks either). Fergusion had another mediocre game again last night also.
  14. I would actually agree with two of his posts. The post on the 2nd of Dec and also the post on the 30th of Nov. Anyway I'm glad that we kept all out top players. At least we have a chance with the league now. I couldnt even watch the transfer news yesterday.
  15. Did he fuck! Miller was poor and Boyd won 1 header. They were similar if anything. Actually Boyd had 9 lay offs knock downs that found team mates in the last 30 mins and I am pretty sure Miller didnt have 1 in the first 60 mins.
  16. Walts probably only playing him because: i) There was growing discontent among the fans that he wasnt getting a chance. ii) To put him in the shop window with the likes of Man U and Spurs sniffing around.
  17. Sorry Oleg I disagree on this one. I agree that Fleck should be playing but I feel that it should be Miller who is dropped and not Boyd. Miller has been playing abysmal for a number of games now while Boyd link up play and goalscoring have been far superior. I wonder if it could be a ploy by the management team to get Boyd to change his mind about a move to Birmingham (maybe/maybe not). Who's filing in at LM? I've got a feeling this could backfire but I hope I am wrong. God damn it I just heard McCulloch is in for Boyd (what can I say about that).
  18. Id take him straight away. Miller has had a major dip in form, so we could do with someone with pace through the middle (he did look pretty impressive when he was played there just before he left last time) or indeed we could use him as cover for the LM slot, just incase Fleck picks up an injury. We'd be picking him up on a free so theres not much to loose.
  19. Actually thats what I have been thinking also. Since MP was opened theres been even less youth making it through to the first team than there was previously.
