  1. Yeah that would be interesting. Anyone apart from Smith really. OO yeah and also PLG. Hes even making Mcleish start to look like a decent manager.
  2. I would probably send a similar message to Aaron also. What must the boy be thinking when the likes of Lafferty (who is not meant to be a natural LM) is played ahead of him.
  3. Id put papac in the middle and bring in Steven Smith at LB. He played pretty well in the reserve games I have seen - although I have to admit it was at the end of last year.
  4. He attempted to run but didnt quite manage it before he pulled a hamstring
  5. I already have after all the support they gave us towards the end of last season.
  6. I would have moved Walter upstairs after the Inverness game. Hes gone from one blunder to the next this season. I know a lot of people dont fancy Coisty but I would have put him in charge until the end of the season. I think at least he would play some attacking football for the remainder of the season. Going by the cup games he would also give the likes of Arron a decent run. Remember one of the factors why we lost the league last year was due to Walters stubborness and negativity. The guys were dead on there feet but he still wouldnt play guys like Gow or Buffel at all and for that matter Boyd was very rarely towards the en of the season.
  7. I would say weir was a good signing at the time and really bostered our defence. However it should have been a short term measure.
  8. Damn tables have messed up Edit - Its sort of updated now
  9. Since I have joined Rangers Media I have been amazed at the split that Kris Boyd has caused amongst the members on the forum. It seems to me that there are two distinct camps. On one hand you have those who support Boyd through thick and thin and on the other you have those who feel Boyd contributes little to the team and should be punted at the earliest possible opportunity. Personally speaking I have been a big fan off Boyd and have been since his arrival at Rangers. I believe that given the opportunity Boyd could be amongst the clubs greatest ever goal scorers. I find it difficult to believe that there are fans (and quite a few off them) who believe the likes of Miller, Lafferty or Naismith offer us a better option up front than Boyd. I thought it may be interesting to draw up a comparison between the games Boyd started in and those he did not start or feature in to determine if Boyd did not make a contribution or made little contribution, as many people have suggested. Additionally I also thought it may be interesting to include a brief outline of our other main players/strikers. 10. I knew he'd be made the scapegoat again if we lost today. Maybe people should be looking at the shit tactics, dodgy signings, sub standard players and lack off drive and commitment. We nearly had a whole team playing for us today that should be shown the door in the summer.
  11. Lafferty had a semi decent game and had one decent shot. It may be fair to say that he was amoung our better players today, but to be honest all our players (bar whittiker) were piss poor. For me Lafferty is poor at holding up the ball, a poor first touch and one of the worst players I have ever seen in the air. Why Walter ever payed 3.5 mil for the boy is beyond me. I know its not Laffertys fault but it would have been far better spending that money elsewhere.
  12. Lafferty and Miller had 1 decent shot in the 65 mins. Lafferty lost every ball in the air (bar 1). God only knows why Daily came on (although Mcculloch did pick up an injury). We could have really done with width today but we didnt have any wide players on the bench (Aaron, Beadsly and to a lesser extent Fleck).
  13. I dont suppose you could start adding negative numbers . It was a really poor display especially in extra time, but I cant say it was totally unexpected (after I saw the staring lineup) .
  14. Its not so much about the strikers today. The midfield was terrible. We could hardly string 2 passes together in extra time. We created very few clear cut chances in the match. We need natural attacking fullbacks and also some decent wingers who can deliver quality balls into the box. Mendes and Ferguson do not work well together in the centre of midfield Davis and Mendes would be a better bet. Lafferty must be the worst player I have evver seen in the air. Rarely does he ever win a challenge in the air and if he does get his head on the ball it goes to the opposition player.
  15. May as well blame him if Lafferty and and Miller cant score today also.
  16. This would be my team: :mcgregor: :whittaker: :bougherra: :weir: :papac: :novo: :davis: :mendes: :aaron: :boyd: :miller:
  17. Source: http://www.sportinglife.com/football/scott...cotspremiership Rangers striker Kris Boyd admits he was wrong to provoke boss Walter Smith into sending him home from training on Tuesday. Boyd, 25, was sent packing from the club's Murray Park training ground after receiving a dressing down from Smith over his attitude at being dropped for Sunday's Homecoming Scottish Cup win over Hamilton. The former Kilmarnock striker returned to training on Wednesday, where he cleared the air with Smith, but looks unlikely to start in Sunday's Co-operative Insurance Cup final against Celtic at Hampden. "When I look back on it now, I feel in this instance that I have let myself down," Boyd told the Scottish Sun. "I just took it that missing out on the Hamilton game would mean I was out of the cup final. "I am desperate to play, all I want to do is win trophies and score for Rangers. "I met the manager, I apologised and we shook hands. "He assured me that is the end of the matter. I am happy with that. "The whole incident has been blown out of proportion. "This sort of thing happens day in, day out at every club. "The way I behaved was simply down to the deep disappointment at not starting and what I thought it would mean. "I'm not the sort of player who wants to sit and take the money at Rangers and not to play. That's not me. "All I want to do is get my head down and train, and give the manager a decision to make."
  18. He has a desire to play, at least that much can be said, if he doesn't want to pick up wages sitting on the bench, when alot of players would quite happily do that week in week out. No Doubt he will get criticised on here for not wanting to sit on the bench and pick up wages.
  19. Smith has taken a dislike to Boyd and has been trying to force Boyd out for months now. Its not Boyd’s fault that we are out of Europe, trailing Celtic in the league (even though they are very poor), have a squad full of pish and are in such a poor financial state. I hope Smith leaves sooner rather than later because he is dragging this club down due to his stubbornness, inept tactics and poor quality signings. I would be more concerned if a player showed no emotion at been dropped. Boyd contributed more than any other player in the finals last year. If it was any other player would Smith have reacted in this way (I doubt it)? If I was Boyd I would have told him to f*** O** a long time ago.
  20. I would actually say the main difference yesterday wasn't the personnel who were playing up front but the inclusion of Mendes, Whittiker and to a certain extent Aaron.
  21. i hope it does. I wasn't trying to highlight he's shit, i was just saying, 'cmon we know you can do better' To be honest he certainly isnt the best! Hes got the touch of a donkey, cant header the ball, finds the opposition with passes more times than he finds his own teammates and certainly isnt a natural goal scorer. He did have a slightly better game yesterday (although he didnt contribute much apart from his goals ).
  22. Its more important to win the league, but winning the next old firm game certainly doesnt mean winning the league (far from it). I put cup final (because that guarantees a cup) whereas winning against celtic in the league guarantees nothing.
  23. Actually Boyd created the space for Laffertys second goal. He made a run to the front post and took the 2 defenders with him which left Lafferty in the clear.
