Larsson : 158 goals in 186 games Boyd: 160 goals in 283 games. 2 ways to look at this stat, yes, it took Boyd 100 more games to equal Larssons BUT ......... BOYD HAS STILL SCORED MORE SPL GOALS ! ah ah ah dont pull a timmy move. Larsson still scored more per games played ( that is you get more goals out of Larsson over the same ammount of games ) To be frank I HAVE to say Boyd ( I've been bigging him up since he signed for us and finally he is showing what I knew he had all along ) . So I've voted Boyd. Off the record though......Larsson scores more in less games, set up dozens a season,scored in World Cups etc, rattled home in Europe including a final and 2 assists in Champions League final and done plenty of damage against us. Europe alone would make me think Larsson prolly had more about him BUT ...... Kris is only 26. He has 2 or 3 years to go until his peak. Right now I seriousley doubt Man Utd or Barcelona or some other big club will come in for the big chap. HOWEVER, what we have seen with Boyd is EXACTLY what I predicted we would, a 4-4-2 and a guaranteed start and he will do the business for us every game regardless. He has improved his touch, power, movement and vision INCREDABLY over the last year ( it hasnt been as sudden as some say, it has taken alot of hard work and suffering under Walter ) and now he looks the part. He can only get better and his goals should be thus : He has now conquered the Scottish Premier League. He now has to outscore Larsson completely and get his ratio ahead also. He HAS to start banging them in against Celtic ( this Sunday will be a good place to start ) and HOPEFULLY Walter will leave at the end of this season and a more progressive manager who will play 4-4-2 in Europe will arrive. I am confident that if we went 4-4-2 and played Boyd against a £1.3 million Unirea side, we would have given them the TROUNCING we should have ( cheers Walter ). So , if Kris can 1) outscore Larsson over the piece ( might already be impossible actually ) 2) start banging them in against Celtic and 3) start banging them in against European opposition THEN , at age 30, we MAY see him move on to a massive club and get a good 2 or 3 seasons at top flight real football rather than the Scottish league. I think ending his career at a huge and succesful club that ALSO plays in a top league would be a great reward for a man who shows dignity, resolve, quality, perseverence and loyalty to Rangers Football Club. I have every faith in Kris as a player and person, he thrives on achievment and proving people wrong and I just hope he continues his development and stays with us for another 3 or 4 years . I was there and it was horrific. I had came back for my mate and was swiftly told "get to fuck you" by a big cunt in a tracksuit, I looked over the shoulder of the guy and I could see some madness. After I had gotten into the city centre ( edit ) it was just ambulances and chaos. Fair play to the staff from the other side who helped out aswell. We had a timmy mate in our taxi and he was as distraught as the rest of us. Was a horrible horrible night.......death looming in the air. A morbid spectacle that transcended football. Thinking about it really does give me absolute chills. I tell the boy and he does the whole sympathy thing but he can't imagine it but it's not his fault and I know he cant understand it cause he didn't see it. You know I think a moments silence at Celtic Park would be a fitting tribute as they were our opponents and it was alot more respectful a rivalry back in the day, more a kind of grudging respect between two institutions but we got more British and they got more Irish....... and I will say this, back in my day, they would observe it perfectly.....nowadays with these young ones and the sick hateful culture which is harboured over there.....I doubt they could even hold their wheesht for 1 second never mind a minute. Horrible night and I will carry this, like so many others, to my fucking grave. God Bless all the innocent families who lost loved ones.

IMO form is irrelevant. These fixtures can be used to turn a teams mindset around, I feel if we had won the 2-1 defeat at CP when Hesselink scored in the last minute, we would have went on and easilly won the title with timmy crumbling. The good thing is, I am 100% convinced that EVEN IF ( and it is NOT gonna happen ) Celtic were to beat us, it wouldn't change their defeat mindset. Mowbray is the worst OF manager I may have ever witnessed and that takes some doing. I've said it before, I think 2-1 to us. ( I'd LIKE 4-1 with a mcmanus OG , Boyd double and Miller goal coupled with 2 Celtic players sent off ( Robson for hatcheting McCulloch and Caldwell for a last man challenge which gives us a penalty, Boyd scoring it to beat Larssons record ) this would give us incredable bragging rights and send timmy into utter and sheer meltdown, they would froth off and go mental and the only down side is that they would see Tony Mopery out the door ( ) . But realistically here is my prediction of how the game will probably go: Rangers come out flying, Celtic shit themselves, we score first ( ball from Davis leads to defensive error from Loovens/McManus/Caldwell which puts Miller through and he finishes with Boruc getting a hand to it just to rub salt in ), we keep pushing, Celtic hit us on the counter to make it 1-1 ( McDonald poached goal, McCulloch didn't track McGeady run from centre, he cuts outside, puts it across and McDonald nips in ahead of Weir, McGregor unlucky not to save ). Celtic push forward and we reshape into 4-5-1 ( Walter ) and soak up pressure hitting on the break with a few counters that fizzle out ) The Horde anticipate a winner as McGeady dances about and fires wide, Samaras runs into dead alleys, McDonald starts to get frustrated and kicking out at Lee and Weir, eventually we go forward and Miller draws the foul from one of their "defenders". Davis whips the ball in and Big Kris rises to meet it with his head and Boruc nearly saving cant get enough behind it, GOAL! 2-1 to us and the game fizzles out with us winding the clock down in the corner area's. Whistle goes, we go mental, timmy froth and spit with rage and claims they were "cheated" ( no doubt there will be 4 or 5 dubious decisions for either team but if one leads to a Rangers goal it will draw the usual conspiracy nonsense from them. ) . We go home partying hard and timmy boo their team off the park and hijack the phone-ins with " we was cheated, Novo should be fined for winding us up, Mobray must go, we played well but just got unlucky, I can see Tony starting to get us playing better than Strachan did we was just unlucky." . aaaahhhhh , I have called an awful lot right this season......lets just see if I have called this right but as long as we win and timmy is raging, I will be one happy bear. ( I'd still rather my dream scenario happened OBVIOUSLEY )

Well I told you all Boyd was excellent and BTW, he is playing like this FOR US ! He knocked back Birmingham last time despite the pressure from Wally and Martin Bain and look at him now. 4-4-2 . Same team as the last few games. We will DESTROY Celtic !!!!!! This is the most confident I've been in a long, long time ( since Walters return actually ! ). We go 4-4-2 with the same team as we have done ( the same team most of us have been crying out for 2 seasons now ) and we will WRECK this Celtic team. They have a mid table SPL team's defence at Paedhead !!! This is going to be SO easy! Even if Celtick score 3 goals, we will easilly get 4 !!! thats how poor their defence is and how good our attack is with Nacho FINALLY getting a run of games ( never bought the "better off the bench" myth as the one season he started every game for us he bagged 20+ and won a league!) So with Nacho getting sharp again after a run of games, Beasley starting to look like the player from the first few months of his career at Ibrox, Miller being more conscise and attaching a head to his proverbial chicken and of course, my favourite Rangers player......Kris Van Boydsten! I made a post about Boyd a month or two ago were I revealed how much a fan of his I am and he has joyfully proved me right. He WILL score at Papehead! Boyd is really a top finisher in Europe btw, maybe nod a great player BUT he is a marvelous natural finisher....and he knocked back Birmingham and their sweetener and fought all the pressure from Martin and Wally to go to Birmingham. He is a true Ranger and has a natural finish like I havent seen since Forrest and TBH his overall forward play has actually been improving over the last few months and I for one commend him on it, better late than never. Yes, those of you who know how mega critical and pessimistic I am will know it's a good position we are in when even I am full of the joys ! ( and i HATE Chritmas btw ) . Even if we get an unlucky and jammy defeat against either hibs or DU, they have better defences than Celtic so we should STILL play the recent formation at CP no matter what !!!!
