  1. Sorry for the double post, just noticed that he has replied to my last tweet. His retort was "Sorry, I didn't mean it like that. Just dead busy!"
  2. Would you rather remain ignorant to the slurs against our club?
  3. I never said he wasn't! Our conversation went like this: GrahamSpiers Graham Spiers Met Ally McCoist today with press pack. He is like Neil Lennon: firm, sure-footed, and with an extra dose of charm in front of reporters. grae79 Graeme Walker @GrahamSpiers You're a shit stirrer, Spiers. To compare Lennon and McCoist is a joke. But well done, you got a reaction. Clever boy. GrahamSpiers Graham Spiers @grae79 Are you serious? You think it is 'shit-stirring' to talk of McCoist and Lennon charming the media? Been there, have you? grae79 Graeme Walker @GrahamSpiers Entirely serious. McCoist has charmed the media for twenty years. Lennon was a thug in the medias eyes til recently GrahamSpiers Graham Spiers @grae79 Oh dear. Never mind... grae79 Graeme Walker @GrahamSpiers... a great way to conclude an argument. Being a pleb, I'm not privvy to the "Lennon Love-ins" of today. You stand by it? Needless to say, I await a further reply. I know that he looks for a wind-up but see nothing wrong in pointing out how much of a dick he is.
  4. People are always moaning on here about how fannies like Speirs get to write shit without being taken to task on it. What's so wrong in engaging in a discussion with him to see how he justifies the nonsense that he writes?
  5. That's exactly the point I made to him. That McCoist has charmed the media for twenty years, whilst Lennon was a thug until recently. He concluded our "discussion" with "Oh dear, never mind." Poof that he is.
  6. I'm arguing with Graham Spiers on his Twitter page at the moment. He posted "Met Ally McCoist today with press pack. He is like Neil Lennon: firm, sure-footed, and with an extra dose of charm in front of reporters." I called him a shit stirrer, which he has taken offence to, asking if "I'd been there" How would I know etc. I don't know why I bother my arse following him.
  7. I heard from a reliable source that if we don't get Commons, we're taking Beasley on loan.
  8. Like who? I'll readily admit we've had plenty of players like that in the past, but I'd struggle to name any now. Webster, maybe, but I believe that he's genuinely been hampered with unfortunate injuries.
  9. I think the story is shit too, but I'm amused at the argument put forward that we knocked back £6million for him in the summer, so why would we accept £5million now? My point is that you can't dismiss a story as being shite just because you don't like what's being said, then accept another story because it meets with what we want to hear. The £6million knock back story is just as likely to be a load of shite as the story the Sun ran with regarding Man Utd.
  10. The World Cup '98 song? I'll have a wee gander... This?
  11. My mate is renovating an old double decker and has some spare seats if you fancy them. They're not that comfy though.
  12. I'm sure that Weiss will start. Hope he runs the fuckers ragged!
  13. Up there with Jock Stein? Is he suggesting that Walter knew?
  14. You've mentioned twice that you're "dreading it" and also claim that McCoist struggles to organise a team. That's why I mentioned about having a bit of faith and backing him. I never said that you were going to shout at him at Ibrox. I just feel that especially in the current climate where we are not going to be in a position to attract top managers to the club, we should be embracing the fact that a living legend is currently being moulded and shaped into our next manager. I'd much rather have McCoist than Billy Davies as I think he'd command more respect from the current players and also be better at convincing good players to come to the club. Remember that not only is he a legend at our club, he is also hugely respected throughout the UK and most players would know about him. That could be a big factor in getting players to Rangers. Tactically, we are in the dark about how he will perform, so we reserve judgement on it until he gets the job and has a chance to do his own thing. I just don't see what mileage there is in not giving the guy our backing. What good can it achieve?
  15. Nobody is guaranteed to be a rip-roaring success though, so why not just give the guy your backing? Out of interest, who would you choose as the next manager then?
  16. FFS, why all the negativity? He gets my 100% backing. He has already done more for this club than most and the fact that he lacks in managerial experience counts for fuck all. Walter Smith anyone? He worked with Souness then took over and led us to arguably our greatest triumph in achieving 9IAR. If the club had taken a different route at that junture, there's a strong chance that we might never have achieved that. Ally will be better than anyone at drilling into every player just what it means to be a Ger, and I'm sure he has learned a thing or two having worked under Smith for the past few years. I'll be sad when Walter finally goes, but excited at the prospect of a new dawn of domination under the legend that is Mr Alistair McCoist.
  17. Each to their own, but I'd have had Beasley in my team before I let Rothen have a sniff of first team action.
  18. I've included a sub (in brackets) for each of the positions in my best team, mainly because I found it so difficult to decide: Goram (Klos) Stevens Gough Amoruso Numan (Hutton) (Cuellar) (Bougherra) (Brown) Laudrup B.Ferguson Gascoigne Albertz (Davis) (McCall) (Durrant) (Cooper) McCoist Hately (Negri) (de Boer) Worst Team: Letizi Ross Konterman Eggen Bernard Capucho Faye Emerson Rothen Sebo Ostenstad
  19. EPL for me. Can't ever see it happening though.
  20. I can't believe that was more than fourteen years ago! Enjoyed re-watching this, almost had tears in my eyes at Gazza's second goal. He was phenomenal that day. Him and Neil McCann were the best players on the pitch.
  21. Keane spotted at Glasgow Airport. They're playing the SECC tomorrow night!
