I'm getting increasingly bored by the constant whinging by a large group of posters in here that we've only spent £400k so far. Is the transfer window closed? No. Has McCoist said that he won't be signing anyone else? No. Has McCoist stated that he will be bring more players in? Yes. Is there still plenty of time to get in the right type of player and the right amount of players we require? Yes. Should people have a wee bit more faith that the club we support and love are doing what they can to build a (4InARow) title winning squad? Defintely! The amount of fucking experts on here that post shite day in, day out about how much money we should be offering for X, how much we should and shouldn't be paying in wages for certain players, really does my nut in.

It's quite difficult to define a "marquee" signing these days, given the over-inflated prices of very average players. A marguee signing for us, IMO, would be someone well known who had achieved loads in the game and was coming to the end of their career. We simply couldn't afford a genuine marquee signing in their prime. My guess would be someone like, if not actually, Rino Gattuso.

A bit out of our price range, but does anyone else here rate Juan Kinoffalot?

People are failing to grasp that he knows WHY he is going to the airport. What he DOESN'T KNOW is if he will see any trialists on the plane, like he has in previous seasons.

I assume he's going to the airport to go to Germany with the squad. His tweet alludes to the possibility that he might see some trialists also heading out with the squad.

It makes me sick to read comments from fans slagging Whittaker off and telling him to get to fuck. He wanted a deal that benefited him and the club. The fact that Rangers are now offering him a deal that both parties are obviously happy with means that he has negotiated well and secured himself to the club for almost the remainder of his career!

I've not read much of this thread so I'm unsure if this has been suggested before. Given the propensity for our recent interest in former players, would Boumsong be a viable option for Centre Half, should we be unsuccessful in luring Cuellar or Bartley back? He's 31 and speaks fondly of his short time in Glasgow. I know he had a torrid time in his second season in Newcastle but I reckon he's still a decent candidate. I wouldn't have thought a massive fee would be required to secure him from Panathinaikos. Thoughts?

Utd held us to ransom with Duncan Ferguson because they knew we'd pay it. It was the time of the three foreigner rule in Europe and homegrown talent such as Ferguson was at a premium. I reckon that Rangers think that Goodwillie as a player is probably worth the £2m and that they're playing hardball because of the convictions hanging over his head.

I, for one, am not at all bothered that he isn't signing. He's not shown enough to warrant a move to anywhere near the first team at Rangers and perhaps he knows this himself. I reckon he'd feature only a handful of times in a season and he'll get more of a chance at a club like Cardiff. As many here have already said, he obviously wasn't at the top end of our shopping list and I'm glad that Rangers aren't just rushing out and offering all our targets exactly what they want just so they can appease the fans with an early signing. We'll have money to spend but it looks like we're going to be spending it wisely on players who will actually have a chance of playing week in, week out. It may be that the "big money" signings such as Cuellar will be towards the end of the transfer window. We'll just need to be patient and stop ripping our tights everytime an average Joe like Conway chooses some other team over us.

I've met a few randomly over the years. Oleg Kuznetsov in Asda when I was about 11, Ray Wilkins did the prize giving ceremony at my BB's so I got to shake the man's hand when I was around 9 or 10. I met Rod Wallace a few times as we had a friend in common when he was at Rangers. Also met Walter Smith and Alex McLeish in George's Square a few years ago when Walter was Scotland Manager and Alex was Gers Manager. They were both out with their wives but took the time to speak to me and get their photo taken with me. I've still got it somewhere on an old phone, I'll need to find it.

I don't know much about Danns to be fair so I don't know who he's capable of dismissing from the team.

Anybody mind if I bring this back onto topic? I admit to not having seen much of the guy. Do we reckon he'd be getting signed as a first team player or as backup?
