You said he should be dropped on current form, to have done so would have been ridiculous, given that he is, as yet, our only goal scorer. He has missed some good chances, but then so do the best strikers in the world. They have a habit of finding the net in the end, just as Naismith has done. How about reserving jusgement on players until at least a few games are played?

If Goodwillie really wants to come to Rangers then there's no reason for this deal to be dead. If Rangers bid the £2million that Utd wanted all along, then the higher bid made by Blackburn is irrelevant if Goodwillie says that he won't join Blackburn. I find it really difficult to fault Rangers' strategy on this one. They were never just going to pay £2million for the sake of it, especially when no other club at the time was meeting Utd's valuation. Now that it appears to have been met (and exceeded) by Blackburn, the onus is on Goodwillie to choose where he wants to go. (If Rangers finally offer £2million)
