The other problem is when players like Hutton get put on ?10K a week at such a young age. I think if you were to put these players on ?2K a week, they would want to prove themselve every week to show they deserve a better contract. Hutton is making around 1/2 Million a year and to me he simply isnt worth it. Guys like Bob Malcolm were happy to take thousands of pounds from us every week and sit in the reserves. Think of the money and basic hunger we have lost from these young players because of the money we give them. If you were given say ?5K a week to sit in the reserves for a few years, you would be happy to sit there. When your a young boy making that sort of money your not going to bust a gut to become a better player. As Jadams said, should we pay these young boys so much? This really is petty, if we don`t pay the going rate how are we expected to keep/attract the young talent, unless were not keen on keeping young Fleck and the others. Of course then we can start criticising that there is no new talent coming through and that the system is not working to produce the players for the future/first team. Remember the youth system has just been revamped therefore the problems and failure of the past should not be visited on them
