  1. Yes, I think so, pretty sure last year was a "Turnover" year, shite/no profit so Lawell just talks about how big their turnover is, which is of course really an entirely insignificant figure. Pretty much every year they've spent money on players they've sold players to an equal value or more. Can't criticise that as at the same time we were paying players off and buying more but from a fans point of view it always annoyed me that they went on about how much they'd spent when their net spend was usually negative.
  2. and he'd owe that to our financial situation and how Celtic's is so much better, when actually when you look past all the shite from the KDS accountants they're basically as broke as everyone else and need CL to turn a profit.
  3. Viham Amasha, Israeli forward banging goals in just now in Israel. The guy looks a very good player, fast, athletic, skillful and a fantastic touch. The biggest thing in this guys way may be his nationality though, he's not actually Israeli but from a piece of land between Israel and Syria and doesn't hold a passport for either so i'm unsure if he'd even be able to move to another country and get a work permit. Ivan Santini, top scorer in Croatia currently in a crap team (11th of 16) Croatian league is lower standard than here but probably not by much and this guy is doing a job for a poor team so would maybe be worth a look, only 22 aswell. Dare Vršič, some people may know him from a youtube video where he scores a free kick from miles out but it was jsut a fluke, he is however something we've been missing for a while, a goalscoring midfielder. Natural position is CAM and he bangs them in from there Finally, a player called Dalibor Volaš who unfortunately we already know as the man whose goal put us out of the Europa league this season against Maribor. He's a good goalscorer and again has a decent return this season coming off the bench. These are jsut suggestions, there's been no links or anything, they're jsut players that if I was at Rangers I might add to a list to be watched as cheap attacking options that are all scoring goals in leagues of a similar standard to ours.
  4. There's a slight question of wages. Even if the unthinkable happened and all £10m was givne to Ally, are we really going to be able to pay these 5 players with Jela's wages?
  5. Pretty sure his problem had nothing to do with psychology or fan scrutiny, but simply that his knee was fucked. He never kicked a ball to be scrutinised for Rangers.
  6. It was a good performance today, one questionable move from the manager but at a point where the game had been put to bed so not the biggest problem. That said I doubt the dropping of a big star was really a footballing choice, either it was to ensure Jelavic doesn't get injured or he's already on a flight somewhere to talk terms.
  7. My thoughts exactly. I hadn't heard about that comment until a couple of days ago and suddenly it made sense why he wasn't playing.
  8. When we're not doing well people always want us to comment on the few positive glimmers so what's wrong with asking a few questions about the negatives when we play well. It's hardly an invalid "moan" when a manager brings on a guy that can't get a game in his natural position instead of a guy he signed only a few months earlier.
  9. 08:30 to 22:30 http://www.spt.co.uk/travelinfo/holidays.aspx
  10. He reportedly signed a contract in 2009 keeping him there until 2012 so it would seem so but transfermarkt.de has him under contract until 2013 and that site is usually accurate.
  11. There are always loads of quotes to back it up aswell, there's been a quote from every Premeirship chairman saying "we want him but we're not paying £10m." In fairness unless our club are daft we wouldn't be asking for £10m if that's what we actually wanted.
  12. Aye, I've got a contact at Atletico and I was amazed to hear £1m appeals even more...
  13. Welcome information about McCulloch? What team is he joining?
  14. Given we're only 2 points behind Celtic I wouldn't be surprised to find Whyte thinks we don't need any investment to go on and win the league.
  15. Strong point was always being better than them, weak point was his tactics in Europe in the mid 90's when we had players like Gazza and Laudrup playing in a team with a cracking defence and one of the best keepers in the world yet we still went out and got pumped 3 and 4 nil by everyone. Not sure really on his greatest moment, in his recent stint it would have to be taking us to the UEFA cup final, despite the nature of the football.
  16. Very handy against a Draugr DeathLord, jsut blast them away, run up and hack at them while they get up then run away and recharge shout and repeat.
  17. It's been said fro a while that the only thing that talks to Boyd is money.
  18. A guy at work says his pal is in contact with Boyd via text as they're old neighbours, i've neither a reason to believe him or disbelieve him, but he says Boyd's position is he wants to come to Rangers but no contact has been made and he doesn't think Rangers will have the money to offer. Apparently he has a few offers on the table, none of them from Rangers or Celtic but he'd not have any problem signing for Celtic if their offer is the best one. When I heard he had left Turkey I was almost certain he'd sign for us but now i suspect he'll get a 3rd crack at a championship team.
  19. I think so, another would Be Jerome Rothen, I think he was at PSG (but didn't play) and us, and a Turkish club within one season. All we need to know is that Goodwillie can't play for us having made 3 appearances across League and European football for Dundee United and then played for Blackburn, so the fact we can probably sign him under FIFA's rules is pointless if he can't play. It wont stop him being the player suggested over the next month though and will probably be this windows shite repetitive joke.
  20. I suspect, despite the reporting, that FIFA had no problem with him signing for them but in fact that Fulham were the ones waiting on an outcome on whether he would get special dispensation to play for them before agreeing to sign him. It was probably Fulham that pulled out when FIFA said no (although if I remember correctly by the time a decision was made it was about a month after the transfer window had shut so I'm unsure how the clubs were going to work round that one. All I can say is that FIFA's own rules clearly say you can be registered for 3 clubs but only play for 2, i'm sure that can't be too uncommon, for a player to be registered with one club, not play, join another and get loaned out in January. I'm sure there are also players who play for mroe than one team on loan in a season without playing for their parent club.
  21. We're becoming as bad as them with their "Celtic minded" shite. The foundations of succesful coaching are surely employing talented coaches, not former players with pals at the club.
  22. Gattuso, Hutton, Boyd, Cuellar and Buffel
  23. Wrong, FIFA rules allow you to be under contract to a maximum of 3 clubs in one season but you can only play/have played for 2 of them. http://www.fifa.com/mm/document/affederation/administration/01/06/30/78/statusinhalt_en_122007.pdf Page 9, point 3 Either way, Goodwillie has played for DU and Blackburn, right? so cannot play for us.
  24. How many players enjoy sitting on the bench or in the stands on these nights? Maybe he's hoping to sue Tromso as a stepping stone to something bigger and he'll have more chance of doing that playing week in week out in Norway than bench warming in Scotland. None of us know the full situation, perhaps he's been told, or at least it's been made clear, that he wont be a first team player often and at his age first team football is probably more important than the status of the club you're at. I'd rather he stayed, in my opinion there are players gettign a game before him that shouldn't be but at the same time it's not my choice who plays and to be honest i'm not sure i'd say anyone needs to be "blamed" for his ambitions and Rangers plans not being compatible. He looks a pretty decent footballer but actually, despite any financial restrictions we may have right now, i still think we should have better players than him, or various others, in our first 11.
