  1. 17 penalties in 36 games? I'd love to have a penalty every second game! Although not if it means having to buy the whole squad a couple of skin-tight caps and a pair of speedos.
  2. According to wikipedia he's on loan to Cowdenbeath mate.
  3. If we managed to get Ben Sahar I would be thrilled, he's got a good eye for a pass and even just thinking of the balls he'd have Jelavic running onto...
  4. Healy basically is our player though, I'm sure he's out of contract with Sunderland in the summer, and they basically just gave us the remainder of his contract in a loan deal? Could be wrong though, I've got a dodgy memory.
  5. Mate you've made that too unrealistic... I mean, where are Iniesta and Xavi supposed to play
  6. You know i had him in mind, but forgot all about him, I'll edit him in!
  7. Ok, lets have a fun little debate here, there are a number of rangers players currently either on the fringe, or miles away from the first team, so what do we do with them? Some are obviously better than others, but... Sell them on? Loan them Out? Or Keep them? Here are the players, and it's up to you guys to decide whether to sell, loan, or keep. Kirk Broadfoot David Healy James Beattie Salim Kerkar Andrew Little Grant Adam Darren Cole Kane Hemmings Andrew Shinnie Jordan McMillan Ross Perry Stephen Stirling Archie Campbell Scott Gallagher Thomas Kind Bendiksen John Fleck
  8. I love big Lee, he gives us a bit of grit in midfield, which we've been missing recently tbh. Sort of agree with you on the Hutton/Ness front though, for all the weakness we have everywhere else on the park we have a bit of a selection dilemma in center mid.
  9. I remember reading that Jelavic was holding out for 20K a week when we were trying to sign him, don't know what the final figure he got was though. I agree that around 20-25K should be our max wage per player should we be thinking in the long-term, but the reality is that most Championship clubs could afford to pay more than that, even (in some cases especially) relegated teams with the parachute payments they get nowadays. There are still some clubs though - like Blackpool - who refuse to pay over a certain amount per week on wages, and this is something we should be looking to exploit. And if my memory serves me correct, didn't Chris Eagles have some crazy wage demands that forced us to consider other targets?
  10. Eremenko just looks like a moaning-faced cunt to me. He's a good player, but when things don't go his way and he can't get the space he needs to play, he just seems to take the huff and refuses to even try for the remainder of the match. Not the kind of player we want at Rangers.
  11. I think that's just a guesstimate. I'm sure I seen that website say Jack Wilshere was only worth £8.8M
  12. Nah, they exist mate, honest It may be difficult to secure a Work Permit for the Brazillian, but Serbia is in Europe, and Lemon managed to sign an israeli this season, so if we didn't get work permits for those two then I'd be quite pissed...
  13. There has been many times on this board I've seen people mention that Rangers should be sending scouts to 'obscure' foreign countries to look for new talent - but not many people have made any suggestions on what players could potentially be signed. So here's a thread for anyone that has any knowledge of this kind of player to put forward. Admittedly, I don't watch much "obscure" football, by which i mean I don't watch Hearts of Oak playing Kotoko in the Ghanian premiership very often, but I do watch the occasional Brazilian, Czech, or Serbian match online. So my suggestions would be: Rafael Toloi (Brazilian) Centre Back - Plays for Goiás in Brazil I saw someone post about him a while back, and i already knew of him from playing football manager a while back, but I decided to watch the Goiás vs Vila Nova match last week, and the boy seems a player! Goiás are currently toeing relegation, and there is interest in the player from Italy, but if you don't try to win, you ain't going to win. Marko Vesovic (Montenegrin) Attacking Midfielder - Plays for Red Star Belgrade in Serbia, has a good eye for a pass, decent strength, and most of all he seems very intelligent. Maor Buzaglo (Israeli) Winger/AM - Plays for Maccabi Tel Aviv, and is intelligent, quick, tricky, and has a beast of a shot and a peach of a pass on him. If we signed this man and he managed to settle, I fully believe he could fire us to numerous titles, and then leave for a hefty profit! Anyone else watch these kind of leagues? And if so, what players would you recommend?
  14. I know it's sad, but I HAVE THOSE! Part of my get-up for manchester, along with some union jack specs, a union jack hat, and a shiny union jack coat
  15. The thing with Templeton is that he can go by any defender about 70% of the time, even when he doesn't have a lot of space. As much as I love Wylde, he's extremely one-dimensional at the momment (He's fast, intelligent, and has a peach of a cross, but not a lot else), and while he is still young and can improve, he needs to improve quickly because it's only a matter of time before he's found out. Simply put, if he doesn't add more to his game, as soon as SPL right backs stop giving Wylde the space he is currently enjoying, his game is up.
  16. Bluenoses aren't manufactured, they are chosen. Once he puts on a rangers jersey I'm sure he'll hate the tims as much as we do.
  17. I think i just cried laughing, well that's put me in my place. Good find mate! Nigeria still got to the final in 2009 after the wrist scan thing was introduced though
  18. Nigeria have won the under-17 world cup 3 times, and yet not many of these players get signed to big teams. Something we should be looking at?
  19. They certainly do have an advantage at the momment, but only because they had the money to exploit our shortcoming - We'll be able to fight tit-for-tat now though! And good point about the sponsorship and kit deals, completely forgot about them! Nice to see we have something to build on then, but we really should be doing better than we are currently, 3 trailists from the one training centre is quite a bad return to be hoenst... possibly the locals aren't aware our centers, or the local facilities are much better than ours. And just a thought here, didn't we announce a link with LA Galaxy a few seasons back? I wonder if we got ahold of their scouting base...
  20. Ok, now the takeover has been completed we obviously have a bit of money to play with - Money i suggest we put to work for ourselves in order to "expand the brand" so to speak. Recently with our financial situation, we became very restricted in the types of business that were available to us, and other countries seemed to see us as a bit of a laughing stock; looking at our great club as though we were the amateurs to their professional. But we have money now, and should set about enhancing the profile of Rangers Football Club! Obviously the best thing we could do would be to sign better players, and get further into the European competitions - and so we should be striving for that, but there are other avenues to explore now, including: Club Links: We are now in a position were we can form a link with lesser clubs in foreign countries, perhaps paying them an annual fee in exchange for first dibs on their players, use of their scouting network, and should we for some reason want to send one of our players on loan to a foreign country, we could do it! Investment in Youth: I remember Rangers used to run training camps throughout Scotland, where proper Rangers scouts would come and watch hopeful young 'uns play for the chance to join the club, and hopefully progress through the ranks. I don't know if this still happens, but even if it does... EXPAND IT! Get more camps in more areas, run buses to pick up the kids, hire more scouts, hire better youth coaches, just generally improve our youth recruitment; because right now, there are many lesser clubs in Scotland that our kicking us up and down the street in this department. A Scouting Network: It's been discussed before on this forum - sending scouts to obscure new locations to find talent, but now we can actually do this! Our scouting network should no longer consist of Coisty sitting down with a pint watching the World Cup, we can do better than that, our club is bigger than that, and we as the fans deserve better. And you never know, we could end up with the next Vladimir Weiss or Steven Davis on our books. Expose Existing Markets: This ties in with the scouting network; If we sign a good football player from a country (preferably with a large population) that doesn't have many good footballers, shirt sales for that player will rocket! Easy money, and more bears, although obviously the player has to be good in the first place. In short, I believe we can make Rangers Football Club a more global brand now that we have to money to do so. Will Whyte implement these things? Maybe, but it's your opinion i want to hear. C'mon Lads, lets make my first topic a good 'un. Discuss!
  21. Copied this from the merchant houce finance website. It seems like everyone Whyte's involved with seems to be some sort of venture capitalist...
  22. John Greig just chapped my door and personally handed me a letter, certifying that whatever shite this man is spewing, is exactly that... SHITE!
