  1. This "hard to understand" and "lacks communication skills" is simply a nod to the continuing silly foreigner digs that have existed more or less since Pedro arrived. Pedro speaks multiple languages, has worked in numerous countries and just last week was presenting at a University seminar organised by Jose Mourinho but we are supposed to believe he lacks communication skills, fuck right off! The only time I saw MOH on tv he was chewing gum throughout the interview...will file him & his opinions under best ignored and hopefully soon forgotten about, if not already!
  2. Well that would cause some confusion for Stokes! Big game this one, you know Hibs will be fired up wi that fucked in charge! But we are moving in right direction and playing with good pace & intensity. A good challenge but one am sure we will be up for and can keep the momentum going. 3-1 for me!
  3. Haha, aye just had a wee look at the tournament website so makes a bit more sense now!
  4. Just switched on, the teams playing now are certainly no youth team!?!?!
  5. Is BBC Lisbon Lions the new name for BBC Scotland?
  6. Honestly not sure how you are coming to that conclusion, it is not even close to being implied even in the bits you have quoted! Clearly he doesn't think it is not going to work! He thinks it will prove to be a good move and that's why others will follow! However, in general, he prefers to be proactive rather than 'wait & see' even if that means making decisions that don't work out.
  7. Would tend to agree with that, as much as many would love a complete overhaul and the fact there are probably very few players in our current team that most of us even "like" right now...it is not practical and on a limited budget I would rather a focus on fewer players but of better quality than spread across a whole range. I would really just focus on building the spine of the team, a reliable CB, some protection in from of them, a creative midfielder and a goalscorer; this will in turn probably get more out of the players who remain. A team of average players will always be just that, but average players playing beside genuine quality can often look far better. Realistically it should be a 3 window transfer strategy aimed at winning title in 2018-19, although I am not writing off next year as I would still like to see how good this Celtic team would be if they were put under pressure!
  8. How the fuck could you make that question up though, given there are so many people that are close to fitting the criteria...seems like it would take a fair bit of researching to come up with such specific criteria while ensuring nobody actually fits it???
  9. Oh man, never heard that one. So tough on the boy. Seems like he has a decent head on his shoulders and you were always assured of a good, honest effort from him so will that hold him in good stead for the future!
  10. Also saw Andy Little mention something like "after all he's been through" & you saying he has had a hard time...what is that in reference to?
  11. Boy at work has suggested Maicon as he won Club World Cup in 2010, but if that's the case the question is a load of pish. For me, cannae get away wi saying won the World Cup in reference to Club World Cup. FFS, can just picture Maicon, Ronaldo, Rivaldo etc. all reminiscing on their careers. Ronaldo talking about winning the world cup in 2002 and Maicon pipes up, aye I mind when I won the world cup anaw when we humped TP Mazembe 3-0 in 2010!
  12. Wiki has Belletti at Barca from 2004 - 2007 but he was first choice in his first season and then fell out of favour and/or was injured...couldna be some strange quirk that he never actually played on same Barca team as Messi?
  13. Not sure he actually played under Jose at Chelsea? Plus playing with Kaka/Robinho?
  14. I never said it was a penalty, of course he dived. Although I can see why it was given from the angle the ref had. The ref was conned however, but again how does that equate to corruption? Is anyone really suggesting the ref was trying to force a Barcelona win but waited until the final two minutes when they needed 3 goals? With regards their "previous", Barcelona were knocked out in the semi-final having had a goal harshly disallowed at the end of their semi against Inter a few years back. All part of the grand UEFA plan to keep everyone off the scent I suppose. Or are all decisions against Barca "honest mistakes" and any decisions in their favour corrupt? Decisions go for them, decisions go against them. More decisions tend to go in their favour, but this is often the way for the bigger name teams. We benefit from this in Scotland (or at least have historically), but often end up on the wrong end of calls when we play in Europe. I just find the corruption/UEFA conspiracy chat tedious and relatively easily debunked.

  16. Usual allegations of cheats, UEFAlona etc. going on I see. Doesn't really stand up to much scrutiny as far as I'm concerned. If, as alleged, the ref was corrupt and handed the game to Barcelona, why did he initially give a corner for the Neymar pen and only awarded the penalty after intervention from the offical behind the goal? Why did he book Saurez for diving in the 2nd half instead of giving them a penalty when he had the chance? Why did he turn down a penalty appeal for the tug on Messi? Under orders to get Barca through and does all that? Mibbee ref just likes sailing close to the wind and knew he could manufacture 3 goalscoring chances beyond the 88th minute of the game? FFS, there are even complaints about 5 mins of injury time added in a game that had 5 2nd half goals, 6 2nd half subs (one during injury time), a penalty awarded in the 89th minute but not actually scored until 91st due to resulting protests etc. and also saw a stat on twitter (not sure if verified but Gab Marcotti RT'd FWIW) that showed PSG had "control" of the ball for 33 minutes while the ball was out of play...if anything 5 minutes was light!
  17. You may be right with regards the compensation term, really don't know but then if that was the case and it was a contractual obligation why would their agent have to negotiate this issue with them last week?
  18. Another thing, having re-read King's statement the offer to resign was received on Monday and "the Board accepted this offer and employment was immediately terminated", Yet MW was still taking training and even gave a press conference on the Friday ahead of the Morton game. I know the claim is the agent then tried to renegotiate the terms etc. but even if he did this that wouldn't explain why we allowed MW to clearly and publicly continue his managerial duties after his "employment was immediately terminated"?
  19. Unfortunately I am really struggling to believe the board have got this right to be honest. I think fundamentally, MW & co were looking for a way out and the links to Forest are probably true. Therefore I believe we are better rid of them and to be looking elsewhere. However, in terms of the legal position, of course it is all conjecture because we do not know the ins & outs of what was formally discussed, negotiated and/or agreed. Why I fear the board have cocked up goes back to the fact this all came out publicly in a pish-poorly worded statement on a Friday night...so poor that, in conjunction with the website crashing, lead many to debate whether we had actually been hacked rather than it being an official announcement...no press conference etc. It was genuine and therefore obviously a rushed & amateur effort. It also referred to MW being informed "accordingly in writing" or words to those effect. It is simply not a concrete statement that shows all parties are in agreement (which you would expect under a "normal" resignation). Then King's statement the next day, where he attacks both MWs character & managerial ability (more than once referring to his lack of experience impacting his judgement), while it was clear a court case may be looming this was at best unwise and at worst going to cost us in damages. Something else which has never actually been explained...why were we willing to let them leave without compensation that we would be contractually due (i.e. the alleged offer made by their agent)? Are we so well off that we will actively release assets free of charge to other clubs? The only reason I can fathom for that is the club were actively looking to get rid anyway?
  20. And if you want to continue comparisons what was our wage bill relative to other Championship teams when we finished 3rd in that league??? We offer a unique set of circumstances (for the positive and negative) and money alone is not the definiing characteristic. A player on £3k a week for Aberdeen/Hearts would "command" £7k a week with us if signing for us (or more if stories re Kevin Kyle & co are to be believed) and would never have faced the pressures we play under. But, as I say, it is far more than the money that defines ability to play for our club!
  21. OK; pressure to perform in front of 5000+ away fans...unheard of for most teams in UK, in fact Europe/World! We are unique but within that facing our own unique set of circumstances after Scottish football conspired to put us in bottom league!
  22. "Comfortably second" after taking over achampionship winning team not a team who finished 3rd in the Scottish "championship". Screw their individual wages and compare transfer fees and wages of squads!?!?
  23. Easy said in theory but completely ignorant of issues such as pressure to perform in front of 50000 fans or fact we remain a cup final to opposition. Takes a shit load more than we pay over & above Aberdeen/Hearts to overcome these human factors!
  24. Fair point, but I think he has played a big part in implementing a change in how we play/develop our youth teams. On the 1st team (clearly his most important remit!), I like what he is trying to build. It is miles off and I think you could expect better on a pound for pound basis.. but that itself wouldnt catch Celtic! We need to sig ificantly outperform investment and that requires a synergy of tactics/style > investment. He may not be the best but may be our best hope!
