  1. should probably tell you what got me started on this! Was watching the scotland game last night... and was thinking would our most technical side beat the spanish? I honestly think in there prime our best side would give them a game, although maybe I wouldn't play Amato or Amoruso in that side imagine Goram Hutton Cuellar De Boer Numan Tugay Durrant Gazza Laudrup De Boer Mols Excuse the dodgy positioning (done quickly) but what a side that would be!
  2. To the folk that pointed out that Whits is better than hutton technically agree... now that i've thought about it, I agree, we really have had shite right backs over the years, Gary Stevens is the first I remember, Since then i can think of Cleland, Ross, Moore (temporarily anyway) Hutton, Ricksen, Muscat, Bardsley, (wish we'd kept him) Khizanishvilli, Whitts & Broadfoot... not exactly sterling technically! There's probably more that i've missed but we've not had a top drawer right back really, not in my eyes, hutton was quality for a year, but I don't think he has gone on from there and reached the level we thought he would do in the epl!! There are different arguments for technique i suppose, albertz technically had a left leg that i think most players would only drool over. This will sound mad but even Brian Laudrup, had everything, but solely on technique was he better than say kanchelskis or caniggia? Or have i chosen laudrup simply because he is a god, i want to have his babies and the man could run, cross, shoot, pass, beat a man.... As for Arteta you could see he had natural ability with us, but he was very raw, not a patch on tugay for me. Barry Ferguson was mr composed, but not a patch on durranty or Gazza for sheer technical ability!
  3. 11 most technically gifted players you have ever seen pull on a rangers shirt (in your lifetime) Mine starts from the 9 in a row team, so for example i've left out davie cooper as I feel I was too young to add him (I was 5 when he left us) Based on sheer technical ability Goram Hutton - Is it just me or is right back a really week position for us over the years? Hutton or Stevens? dunno who Id choose! Amoruso - quality(or calamity on the ball) F de Boer - passed his best but class on the ball Numan Laudrup Gazza Tugay/Durrant - Durranty R De Boer Mols Amato What a side that would have been to watch going forward!
  4. I was against the signing, but to be fair he's strolled the spl so far and he and goian look the part, although I always say lets judge players after 30-40 games rather than 10, pedro mendes looked the part for 10 games then faded and remained pretty much invisible in most games after that. That said credit where credits due, our centre backs are performing admirably and the biggest improvement for me is level of distribution from our defence, both boca and goian can pick a pass and look really comfortable on the ball. Much better than Weir and Boogie at playing the ball out of defence. Negative points? I don't want to be too harsh as they've both done really well, but goian is not much quicker than Davie Weir and a couple of times I've watched bocanegra his positioning hasn't been the best I think those 2 things are the reason why neither made a massive impact in the big leagues. In my lifetime the best defensive partnership i've seen was Cuellar and Weir (including 9 in a row) and I think it will be some time before we see a CB partnership who can defend to the level that those two did as we reached the uefa cup final, but I tell you what Goian and Boca have hit the ground running and look like they've been playing together for years, keep it up guys!
  5. get him signed McCoist! hahahahaha!
  6. I reckon both Wallace and Papac will start tomorrow, Wallace at left midfield maybe? Mcgregor Whit Goian Boca Papac Davis Edu Ness Wallace Laff Jela Thats what I think Mccoist will play, maybe he'll bring Ortiz in instead of Ness and I guess he could stick with Wylde, but I wouldn't expect our team to be too different to the team that played dunfermline.
  7. dunno if this has been posted http://twitter.com/#!/SeboFilip Verified by Vlad Weiss, so i think its genuine! Get following haha! Seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeebbbbbbbbbbbo!
  8. I too would have Weir over Broadfoot at centre back any day of the week... but you can't tell me you'd play davie weir at right back now, Im davie weirs biggest fan, he's up there with Gough for me, thats how highly i rate the man, but he's too slow to play right back and would offer no attacking threat. He did start his early career at right back tho if i remember correctly. I was thinking... Goian is the new hero of our fans right.... but how come no one complains about his lack of pace? Davie Weirs been criticised a lot these last few years for being old and having no pace... but in all honesty... I think he might be quicker than goian! I also still believe that as a defender and on pure defensive ability.... Davie Weir is still the best Centre Back in scottish football! Can only presume Ally bought all these Centre backs because he was preparing for european football and maybe playing a back 5, with Bartley, Weir, Perry, Goian and Bocanegra we have a lot of strong competition for 2 places. You can almost guarantee Perry is going to miss out & Bartleys currently injured.. when Bartleys back though I think he'll take perrys place on the bench. I still think positionally Bocanegra's a little bit off, couple of time's he's played people onside and its cost us a few goals.. although he is growing in my estimation and I think he's capable of doing a job for us in the SPL
  9. He's said on many occasions he'd never play for us! Which in my mind is fucking brilliant news as I don't want the scum bag anywhere near our club! Should be banned from playing right now! Despite his good start and the fact I think he has the ability to be a decent option for us... the answers no! I'd have taken Riordan over him, thats how much I dislike him! would rather we looked at younger options with the potential to be good.
  10. I've posted some of my favourite videos of performances we've put in in my lifetime! feel free to add your own! that goal by Hateley http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D0iL0OPKO9c&feature=related
  11. 20 passes God i miss Carnival de Paris! So much better than Madness, listen to the crowd! Amazing!
  12. It takes some level of composure to do this!
  13. My biggest hatred of edu, Im by no means his worst critic, is when he stands and points at someone else to pass to, I think he should be getting into space himself. He also needs to be getting stuck in more and recently he's been doing that, For some reason I always think Edu does better (This season apart) in european games than he does in the SPL. The truth is though that we have to live within our means, our means is in the spl, Mo Edu is still one of the better midfielders in the SPL, I firmly believe that and for me as much as he may not be one of our better players, I do think, with confidence and form he has something to offer. I thought he was the glue in our performance yesterday held us together and I hope that means he and davis are building an understanding in the centre of the park. We were excellent yesterday and bar Paul Gallagher it could have been 7 or 8!
  14. Whenever we lose there's always an article blaming one of these guys (granted not fleck for a while?) What is it with our fans and whipping boys? You should all be ashamed, your not proper fans, if all you do is pick on players you don't like! Sometimes every team needs a couple of players that do the unspectacular stuff, and if that teams successful these players tend to be appreciated! Now I'm not saying any of the above are the greatest players to play for this club but i believe they do a job and I've seen far worse playing for us! Its not McCullochs fault we lost tonight, its a team effort and the truth is as a unit we weren't good enough! So Goian, Naismith, Jelavic, Lafferty, Wylde McCoist... whoever were all not good enough! Get behind the team! Naismith, Lafferty, Hutton, Adam... some examples of previous 'boo boy' targets I find it embarrasing to see fellow fans do this!
  15. First off.. Yasssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss mon the Rangers! What a great result and well done Super Ally, we need to bash on from here and keep playing this way! I reckon that was with ease the best we've played under Ally, some real neat passing and there was a directness about us today that I was really impressed with, something we never saw under Sir Walter, Ally had us keeping the ball on the ground and moving the ball forward, really good to watch. Hopefully we can keep this up, If only we were up for it every week like we were today. Fantastic! I thought Naismith was outstanding, I think he really has become an indispensable player for us, I'm not saying he'll play well every week, but there's no doubt when he doesn't play we lack that bite and enthusiasm that he brings, plus the guy has ability, I know he spent time at Arsenal before he joined us and I look at them now with all there fancy players that aren't really up for it and just think how much Naisy could bring to that team. I genuinely think he's that good! Lafferty, for me no longer has any question marks against him, I don't care what anyone else thinks.... for me he's better than goodwillie! The big man runs his socks off and I was just delighted he got his goal today, thought some of his link up play was outstanding too, caused the Celtic defence no end of problems with his movement. Well done to every rangers player today, delighted! By the way how pish was there new left back? Thought he got an absolute doing every single time. ps. He dives to the left, he dives to the right, Allan Mcgregor shags 10 burds a night!
  16. You mean the goal where goian went to sleep and bocanegra played hooper onside that one? Either Goian should have been marking Hooper or Bocanegra should have stepped up, in my opinion its the latter as all the other defenders were in a line, god knows what bocanegra was doing! Whittaker did fine, and we won 4-2 ffs! have a coke and a smile!
  17. Does anyone actually like this guy? I see they have banned any cooperation with the record, got me thinking how I too hate Jim Traynor, I too hate Keith Jackson, I actually have no idea how the paper got nicknamed the daily ranger as I really do hate them both! Add Gerry McNee and Graham Spiers to that list and i think that'd be my list of worst journalists!
  18. http://www.killiefc.com/DoYouRemember/AllyMcCoist/AllyMcCoist.htm Found this and thought a few people might want to have a read on here!
  19. I think its a pretty good article at this stage, after all there can't really be any answers until the final decision on the tax case is made? It would all be speculation. In my opinion Craig Whyte obviously had enough credit to have the bank debt transferred to the wavetower company, which is where the debt is sitting now & hopefully for our sake he has a get out clause that lets him walk away from us if we get hit with a tax bill and also all the existing debt is transferred to SDM. The reason I say this is if we get hit with a tax bill we will need capital from somewhere if we are to stand any chance of getting out of this. We would most likely need to go into administration, but hopefully this would allow whyte to pick us up on the cheap and pay a relatively low % of debt and leave us in a position where we can pay off the debt that we have. I would also hope if we get hit with a bill, SDM would take on a % of that debt but who knows whether that will happen. I also know if we get hit with a bill, we will have to pay it off in years to come which will see the need for a reduction in the wage bill, that is a fact regardless of Craig Whyte's position in all of this!
  20. That Craig Whyte is the right man for the club who took over at the wrong time? Why did he not wait on us being hit with the tax bill and let us go into administration and pick us up on the cheap? Is it because hrmc are clever and were waiting on the takeover before they took us to court for this large amount? Surely there must be a time limit on these things? I mean how long have we been hearing about this tax bill for? 3,4 years at the very least? Probably longer? If Whyte was as smart a man as I think he is, he'd have another clause in his deal that says he can walk away from his deal with SDM at any point if we get hit with a tax bill, I heard 6 months was the timescale he'd given publicly, but unless SDM has an agreement that he's going to foot the bill for anything over a certain amount of the tax bill, then it makes no sense having craig whyte as our owner should that happen. In my eyes we do need Craig Whytes money, I think he's made big changes in the board room and I think that he needed to do so as the clubs directors were getting too much out of the club for me, particularly Bain, despite the fact that in the last few years i think he did a decent job for the club in terms of getting a few big fee's and getting good players to the club for low fees Davis, Jelavic, Naismith) However do we need Craig Whyte in charge if we get hit with a 50 million tax bill? Well yes, but if he cant clear it? We'd be better with him walking away, going into administration and letting Whyte try and pick the club up again on the cheap? As that would surely allow him and the club the opportunity to clear the debt by paying only a fraction of what is due. He'd then have a Fergus McCann style job to do in order to rebuild the club. Whatever happens Craig Whyte sure does have a job on his hands!
  21. If your with your wife who you love for years and dumps you, makes up untrue and slanderous rumours about u and leaves your reputation in tatters? Do you let her get away with it? Im not saying thats what happened with bain, but thats clearly what he believes and i honestly dont know whos right or wrong in this, but if bain is right and he has been treated this way, maybe he has a point? If you were offered a payrise, you wouldnt say no would you? From a rangers point of view I hope bain doesnt get a penny, but we will see! Not good times for the club at all, either way!
