Utd should be beating them like! Good 2nd goal, but thought pernis could have done better! Stronger hand needed there! Maybe a bit harsh to criticise him though! Utds defence has looked weak since Webster's loan finished! And they now lack the Gomis type player in the middle of the park too, that bit of tenacity! Still better than this lot though!

I had a read on that forum too and some saints fans rave about him others say all he does is put in a good tackle. I think he'd be a decent option and IMO hutton's not ready for the first team yet. I'm not convinced by Ness's fitness, but I think he's quality and with a player like a mcculloch/davidson next to him, Ness would be more confident to get on the ball and make things happen, use that left peg of his. We also have Davis who might play in CM too, although I do prefer him at RM, he gets more time on the ball there and less of the hammer throwers of the spl charging into him all the time. His physique seems to limit him at CM for me. The problem with him at RM is it means Naismith is going to have to play LM or up front, which pretty much puts us back to the same team we had last year. So maybe i'd start with Davis at CM and see how it goes. I think our midfield will line up Ortiz, Mcculloch, Davis, Naismith with back ups of wylde, ness, fleck, edu, hutton & maybe davidson if he arrives. Unless we punt Edu, I can't see any other midfielders/wingers joining us and if they do, it'll mean the manager intends to play Naismith up top.

We need some more defenders, Wallace is better than papac imo, he is worth 1.5 million if on a long term contract, my issue is that with a year left we should have told mad vlad to do one and waited til January. Sign that maybe we're starting to panic a little with signings. The positive thing for me is, I've always been of the opinion that some of the top players at other spl clubs should be able to play for the old firm and I think we've picked a few of the better ones. Aberdeen - Fyvie, Foster (struggled to find good players) Dundee utd - Goodwillie, Swanson Dunfermline - Kirk, Gallagher? (same as Aberdeen) Hearts - Driver, Wallace, Templeton Hibs - O'connor? Inverness - Foran Kilmarnock - Bell Motherwell - Humphrey, Murphy St Johnstone - M Davidson St Mirren - D Mcgregor, S Thompson You look at that list and most of them are no where near good enough to play for us (Other than the ones from Dund utd and hearts) Murray Davidson and Lee Wallace are easily 2 of the better players we could get from that list.

If this happens for somewhere between 500-750k I won't be too gutted, Murray Davidson's really strong in the tackle and should add a bit of bite to our midfield. Not ready for champions league or anything, but if we get him for a low price maybe he'll make the grade with us. He has Kevin Thomson like potential and I think he could be a good signing for us.

Where the heck are all the negative cants on this thread? I like John Fleck always believed he was the most talented youngster in out youth ranks, give him time and he'll make the grade! thats what i've always said! Look at Adam now! If the boo boys button there mouths when this teenager makes a couple of mistakes and applaud him when he does things well maybe he'll become more consistent and confident

Andrew Dickson said he thought Jela was going to be no 9 but he wasn't 100% sure so he didn't confirm it, find out on saturday! Tell you who i think came onto a game last season Djourou at the back, he and vermaelen might work for arsenal but there both big tall strong defenders, Arsenal could do with a decent ball playing centre back whos comfortable keeping a hold of the ball, ie david luiz, rio ferdinand.... madjid bougherra... haha! Seriously what do arsenal not need. New goalkeeper to battle chesney hawkes, left back to compete with gibbs, right back to compete with sagna, 2 centre backs to compete with djourou and vermaelen (squillaci and koscielny arent good enough) A defensive midfielder in the mould of Viera, some new midfielders to replace Fabreagas and Nasri if they go and someone to partner Van Persie up front (Is Gervinho a winger or an out and out striker? don't think ive ever seen him play in real life)I make that 9 players for me they need to win the league. Either way Arsenal are not winning the premiership. Another point with Wenger, how did he manage to bring through so many good young players... and turn Arshavin into one of the most anonymous players in the league? Such a waste.
