  1. I am waiting for the Julia Roberts type character to appear soon and make our very own Richard Gere see the light and pump all his millions into the club he seems intent on breaking down. Apologies for being flippant but it is all I have to cling onto at the moment (suppose I am going to get slaughtered for admitting to have watched Pretty Woman )
  2. Still have my original Orange top....need to shift a couple of stone to squeeze into it nowadays though. Also have an t-shirt from around the same time which was to do with the link to chinese club Shenzhen. It was orange with chinese writing and We Are The People on it (got shorts to go with it too). Although the club were selling them you would likely get jailed for upsetting the terminally offended nowadays.
  3. With you on the plain bread....never could get a decent roll for my breakfast in Aberdeen. They have a cheek to call they rowie things a roll.
  4. On the Ayrshire subject. One of the son's of our fine district must be very sad the way things have turned out recently. I firmly believe Gordon Smith would have been (and hopefully will be in the future) a real asset for our club. Never really got the chance to stamp his mark by the sounds of things. Chin up Gordon. Lets hope he is welcomed back in better times and he has the freedom to do the job asked of him.
  5. From one Ayrshire bear to another.....welcome. Let's hope for some sunnier times ahead.
  6. As mentioned previously I just found it strange that the very same person that criticised forumites for stating opinions/thoughts on Bartley was in fact one of the principal slayers of Papac. I am all for defending our players (especially at this time), I suppose it is too much to ask for some consistency and unity among us (again, especially at this time).
  7. It could also be argued that there is a huge difference between your opinion and "the truth" about Papac's footballing ability.
  8. You found some of the stuff written about Kyle "shocking and embarrassing" but you found it ok to have a go at Sasa (and also have a go at board members who were passing their opinion on the player). I just found that strange.
  9. Two words for you....Sasa Papac.
  10. The Winton used to be across from the railway station. Knocked down years ago, think there is a bookies on the site of the Winton...basically Lily (who was never seen in anything green) would not serve you if you were not "alright", any strangers into her boozer had to be vouched for. The Vic and Abbey bar used to be good Rangers boozers also. The Market bar is further along into the town (got it's name because the cattle market used to be across the road from it). The Claremont (bar) used to be for the other lot, never used to drink in there that often.
  11. Grew up in Kilwinning. Things have changed in recent years but it was a real Rangers town. The stories about Orange Lily in the Winton Bar (near the station) were legendary. Stevenston is a bit of hotbed as well....Cross Keys used to run 3 or 4 buses to home games.
  12. Sasa Papac was an integral part of a defence which consistently performed during our past 3 league championship victories. Throw in another 5 cup victories and a magic UEFA cup run, surely that deserves at least a little respect and recognition. In the recent months he has been played out of position to accommodate Lee Wallace at LB which has led to drop in his performance. I can understand Ally playing Wallace as he was his "big" signing however for me it is no coincidence that our defence (and overall team ) performance has dropped with Wallace at LB. He might not be the buccaneering, bombing forward kind of full back that some people like but he knows how to defend and for me that is what defenders are paid to do. As has been mentioned previously Papac has never been one to shout his mouth off to the press, never had agents holding us to ransom and there have been murmurs of potential career ending neck/head injuries and his bout of pneumonia this year which Sasa has not made a big deal about. Overall I believe Sasa has been a reliable, genuine and consistent servant to our club. At this moment, more than ever, these are the type of indivduals our club needs and for that he has my full support.
  13. The response from the fans has already sent a signal that we will not be beaten nor divided. The defiance in the face of the issues we have faced this week will demonstrate that we are one. That shower at the bbc will not be sitting comfortably tomorrow, nor should they be. Let's make it clear that we will be here for a long time yet and we will make them miserable for years to come. Let's hope they leave tomorrows game spewing.
  14. What an amazing response. Let the whole world know what we Rangers, the club, the fans are all about. It is no coincidence that we are the most successful club in the world. Unfortunately I am working abroad at the moment however my mate has already mailed me to thank him for giving him the chance to get to the game. He has also assured me that he will be giving it laldy tomorrow so although I am shattered that I am not going to be there I am comforted knowing that my seat will not be wasted. Enjoy the day lads and lassies.
  15. Work on a boat abroad so I only have access to the Internet. Can get all the usual media trash if I wanted it but I know where I can get the truth....RM is priceless. Keep up the good work lads, there are people here that really appreciate it.
  16. Seen them setting up a camera outside West Enclosure when I was leaving......thought that was a wee bit unusual and wondered what they were up to. Looking for some mudslinging no doubt.
  17. Thing that surprises me about this move is that Jela spoke of his desire to play in the Champions League. Reckon he will have to wait a few years for that......can't see the Toffees providing that for him unfortunately. No hard feelings from me, only good memories. Hopefully the goals he scored in the first half of the season will be crucial come the end of the season. Good luck.
  18. Ally understands our club as much as anybody. He is aware of the traditions and values that this club has set and maintained for generations. No matter the role he held within the club he has acted with credit and dignity. As a player Ally delivered whenever it was asked of him...as a manager I expect the same. Some of the posters on here should put themselves in his position and ask yourself would you walk away? He loves this club and I am sure he is willing to put his own career and reputation on the line to fight for it. He will not walk away.
  19. I like the point about the pressure being on that lot now. They have proved in the past that they cannot handle it....ICT last year the best example. They have had a fair run of luck this season (jambos last minute penalty miss was a key one for them and Alukos penalty decision at rugby park was a key one for us). I firmly believe these things even themselves out over the season. I am also hopeful that their unfair pressure on referees and reliance on SFA/Lunny will bite them on the arse. We are past masters of being in this situation and we know they are likely to implode as the pressure starts to build. Keep believing, keep digging but most importantly keep following.
  20. Is that a typo? Are you referring to super pulling the boots back on?
  21. It is more than just the tax case that Murray has to answer for though. I see Fred Goodwin has had his knighthood removed (seemingly his services to banking were not as good as everyone thought). Do you think Murray should lose his too as his services to business do not seem too clever at the moment either.
  22. Ha ha.....I have often thought that too. Will need to ask my old man if this was the case. Many happy returns when your birthday comes along mate.
  23. Ha ha.....I have often thought that too. Will need to ask my old man if this was the case. Many happy returns when your birthday comes along mate.
  24. I awake on the 39th anniversary of my arrival to this world to see all sorts of negativity regarding our fantastic club. Please Mr Whyte, provide sufficient support to allow Super Ally to drive us towards another famous victorious league campaign. I am in no doubt that preserving the integrity of the Rangers is the most important factor at the moment but the thought of that plastic legend from the other side getting one up on a true legend hurts. Also Happy Birthday to Greegsy too.
  25. Was hoping to open that to be told the escape route was that Rovers would be up for swapping Healy for Billy Sharp.
